Norma TAC-22 High-Performance on sale at Cabelas

Unfair to who?

Only accurate rifles are interesting!

As to price . . . just because Diesel is more expensive than regular now in BC I would not be using it in my car or truck expecting better results.

Buying ammo because it is a loss leader still does not make it a better deal.
The regular price for Norma is $11 - $13 per box. Add the tax and I have been getting Remington Eley Match delivered for $165 per brick.

There is a saying . . . cheaper oats can be had but they have been hough the horse once!

That price is around entry level ammo. 11-13$ is close to what CCI SV is around here, same with Eley Sport, depends on what store sells it. Eley Rem Match is close to 20$. I shoot a div where we keep it fair with ammo around 10$ a box. So doesn't matter if someone has a Anschutz 54, or a 1403.

Well good luck using diesel in a gas engine you be calling CAA in a few KMs when you vehicle dies. And if you put gas in your diesel, you be looking for a new engine. Only thing it has in common is it a fuel. Your analogy would been better if you said 87 Oct VS 91 Oct, that would be a performance test.

Ordered a few bricks this go around. See how my rifles like it. For $.15 a round it’s presently be cheapest stuff I have so don’t have crazy expectations from it.

Worst case it end up as 25 yard plinking ammo for my Ruger 10/22 takedown and Browning SA22. Not crazy accurate with either of these being as mostly like shooting them off hand and the browning I run iron sights only. So the ammo usually not limiting factor for them. Generally run mini mags in them and off hand at 25 yards I doing well if I can group at 1.5” I need much more practice I feel to improve off hand.

I used to have an old vw jetta diesel manual transmission, with 55 litre tank filled up I could drive 1200 km on highway non-stop. You find me a gas car can do that? So diesel is better than gas :)
having that said, the analogy is flawed. A bullet is a bullet, price is tied to performance. Diesel and gas are totally two different fuels.

Strongly suggest trying a Mapleseed course!

Went into the Calgary store and saw that they have stacks of 50 round boxes.
So I ask a clerk behind the counter if I can have 4 bricks from the back and he tells me they only come in 50 round boxes.

Is this right? This ammo can't be had in a 500 round brick?

Then should have asked for 40 boxes. Just probably an un educated worker, just seeing they only sell it in 50rd boxes.

When I ordered 10 boxes online it came in a brick, same with the order after.

The guy was working behind the gun counter, so I made the assumption he was just being lazy and didn't want to fetch 4 bricks from the back of house.
I didn't want to chance throwing 40 little boxes into a cart and having some of the ends lift open and spill .22 ammo all over the place, so I guess I'm left with placing an online order.

Bought and tested the Black box at $6.50. Not impressed.

Had a gift card and the Red box was listed at $9.97 so bought three boxes.

Tried it last night using the Cooper JSR and three plus inches at 100 yards left it marginally better or worse than the Black Box.

Switched to some Remington Eley Match but did not clean. First shot touched the 1/2" dot and the next four were under one inch.

Only good ammo is interesting!

Trying to equate these two brands with RWS brands is challenging. Rifle Match S (1131 mps) and Rifle Match are higher grades than Target Rifle.
Norma Red Box lists a velocity of 1100 fps and the black box is 1082.
My guess is the Norma line is more in line with the RWS target rifle varieties which is a stp up from the CLUB or lowest grade.

PS. Won't be buying any more!

It's just steel plinking ammo now. I noticed when I was using it in March. It was soo greasy, that my fingers slipped loading it into 10/22 mags.

I bought the box and it literally was just RWS target rebranded. The exact same bullet, weight and velocity markings on box as RWS target and the same "R" headstamp.

I bought 5000 rounds at $549+ tax and shipping. All in it worked out to just under .13 cents a round. In my cz 457/ibi 1/16 twist it shoots better then sk standard, sellier canadian match and cci standard. It's about on par with eley club through my set up at half the price. I wish I had bought more of that lot# I'll use it to plink and train this summer and save the centre x for matches or group shoots
