I have had a couple of ARs over the past year and have gotten rid of them for one reason or another. I ran across a used NEA 14.5" model on EE and decided after reading everything on this site I could find, good and bad, I said what to hell, so I bought it. When I got, it loved the look and feel, went to the range same day and anxious to shoot it. First 5 rounds were great then started having feeding issues. I'm not a gunsmith and new to the AR world. So It was pretty much WTF!

It was Friday night and I went home and logged to the website and sent an email to NEA Tech support explaining it was used and explained what was going on and I did not expect an answer until Monday. At 830pm on Friday night I get a reply with several suggested solutions. Also came with an offer to send the rifle back and they would look at it right away N/C and would give it a few new upgrades for my trouble. Again, I am the second owner and its used. Well turns out some of my mags had the rivet sticking out to much and it was not seating or feeding properly. Nothing to do with the rifle at all. I have now put 500 rounds through it with out a hiccup.

It was Manufactured in April 2013, so inquired about a new model and it turns out there have been some changes since then, and I sold my 14.5" on EE and picked up the latest version today from Target Sports, (they are on sale $987.00) an NEA 12.5" which I really did want in the first place. Ill tell you it is a beauty. The fit and finish is amazing, I might sleep with it tonight! :)

I have not shot it yet, but I will tomorrow. My point being, I really felt the customer service was amazing and they stood by their product no questions asked, regardless of the fact I was the second owner and on a Friday night! That was good enough for me to be confident enough to buy a new one. Turns out I had been emailing with Jeff Hussey the President. We are always quick to complain, I thought I should take time to make a positive comment about a good Canadian Company,,, I hope they are around for a long time. I'm aware of some of the threads, just wanted to share my experience. I will Be sure to update how The NEA 12.5" performs, good or bad!

I've never owned a complete NEA rifle but I used an upper and lower from them to build a great 12 inch 300BLK with a custom made barrel. It's been 100% reliable and even though they aren't a matched upper and lower the fit is nice and tight with no wiggle at all.

I think some of their earlier stuff may have had some issues but I've never heard of anyone having problems with the company standing behind their product. I know it isn't the best stuff available but as a civilian shooter it is more than good enough for me. I might think differently if I was protecting my life and the lives of those around me with it (in which case I'd grab my PWS) but it looks good and functions fine so I'm happy with my purchase as well.

Their support people are top-notch, gotta give them that. I own 1 lower and 1 upper (both stripped) by them and they are the right size, decent finish and hold the parts. The one piece I borrowed (their 22lr upper) was a light-strike-o-matic.

I had some issues with a NEA 300BLK barrel I bought from SFRC and NEA was pretty awesome in getting my issue sorted out and some cool stuff for my troubles.

I've particularly loved their Gen2 quadrail with the pinch bolts along the bottom. Here's a pic of me in the modified prone at the ORA's CQB matches on Langemark Range, Base Borden:

Right now I'm running a 14.5" NEA Hvy Barrel I bought from Ryan at SFRC on top of my Colt LE 6920. More on that later. That NEA barrel is very nice and hefty giving me a great feel up front. I'm not running a quad rail this coming CQB season but rather old school mid-length circular handguards since I really don't shoot with a forward Chris Costa grip; for some reason my support hand hangs around the mag well like this picture:

I've been very pleased with the way the NEA accessories and parts come together in my rifles over the past few years. I've bought them all from Ryan at SFRC and not a single regret. I just wish I could afford more toys but unless you are Chuck Norris, you can only shoot one firearm effectively at one time! :)

Cheers and keep helping the nooobs!

That's a good looking rifle!!

I sure like my 7.5 PDW. I broke a bolt and emailed them. They emailed me back the next day to tell me they had some troubles with previously outsourced bolts and that they were immediately sending me a new one now made in house.

That's good service.

I like that

Ive had good experiences with NEA,

defiantly top notch customer service, they will make things right if they do go wrong, at no cost, even if you are not original owner, and they seem to throw in lots of extras for your trouble too.

I keep hearing about guys getting screaming deals at Target Sports, but their web store is down - I have a lovely Visa card with way too much room on it, but it's tough to blow the budget when you don't know what they've got.

X2... Quite annoying when you read about deals but cannot actually use the site to locate them.

Range update On NEA 12.5"

Went to the range this morning at 7AM sharp with a buddy. We shot off 250 rds. flawlessly. I couldn't be happier. Can only shoot indoors at 30yards, but once I got the Vortex Sparc sighted in after 6 shots, I was shooting 10 ring 1" groups. Trigger is stiff, but I am thinking that will loosen up with time. Great Purchase!

You can always get an ALG trigger from Arms East. They also got insane pricing on Geissele if you really wanna splurge. Currently in the $250-300 range, but new batches are gonna be in the $400 ballpark.

It's not to bad, not gritty, it is actullay smooth, just stiff. I'll shot it a while and maybe change out the springs to a set from JP Enterprises. That made a huge difference on my last AR. I polished that one up because it was gritty.

No experience with dealing with NEA but the latest gen 7.5 I picked
up works fine and with the linear comp from allen gun works.......
What a flame thrower. LOL

I had great service from NEA as well. I bought a Gen 1 10.5 used off the EE. The first problem was the trigger was double firing. Pull the trigger, fire, release the trigger, fire. They replaced that right away. Next thing to go was the bolt broke. As well as the gas key wasn't properly staked. Again they replaced them right away. Since then it's run like a top. One of my favourite ARs.
