Finally finished her up today. This was a 98k that was converted to M59F1 specs in Norway. I have been told by Norwegian sources that all the parts to do these conversions could be bought directly from Kongsberg to convert 98k's for DFS matches as a factory Kongsberg M59 was an expensive rifle in those days.
It is a bnz 42 receiver with Kongsberg 27" heavy barrel in 7.62X51NATO and Busk diopter sight (graduated to 600m). The receiver, bolt body, trigger guard and floorplate are matching. The new barrel was numbered to the receiver when it was built. Nice bore in this rifle, can't wait to get her to the range.
I was able to source the stock set for it from Norway complete with front band and cleaning rod. I stripped the old chipped finish off with stripper and 0000 steel wool then finished it with several coats of tung oil, no sanding whatsoever. Turned out real nice. The barrel is free floating under the handguard. The stock is from a military M59 as it has the cutout for the side rail scope mount on its left side.
Not many of these around over here, on to the pics!
Kongsberg stamp on barrel.

Well finally got this one out shooting and decided to kill two birds with one stone and do the CGN Milsurp shoot while testing it out.
Did 5 and 10 shot groups here are the tightest at 100m. Ammo used was 1972 vintage US Army 173gr M118 Ball.
The 9 rounds in the black measure 3" Damn that flier, it could have been perfect.
Another 10 shot group.
A 5 shot group 2.75"
Nothing earth shattering but it shoots nice groups for what it is.
It killed my target on the 4th group of the day.
