Not seeing too much on Leupold tactical scopes...

Leupold started to rest on it's laurels, they let others take the lead and charged too much of a premium for what they were producing. Take the CQBSS, they wanted $4500 for it, now they've dropped the price $1500 since they've found "production efficiencies". Bulls**t, they were trying to take customers for a ride and nobody bought into it. To many options out there offering better value and features. Leupold is a has been.

Alright, I'm not trying to bash other companies, I personally believe that NF/S&B, etc. are superior scopes, but for most uses the Mark 4's work fine.

I will agree with you the S&B are a superior scope, but the price point is considerably higher. I own a MK4 4.5-14 FFP. The only thing I don't like about it is no zero stop. When I shoot L/R I often am shooting steel gongs at a varity of ranges from 600-1200 yards. without a zero stop you need to pay attention to your dial so you don't get lost. I will agree with most coments here. Many of the scopes available now are of comparable quality or better in some ways. some are better value because they are priced a bit lower and are good scopes ie Nightforce. This dosen't necessarly mean the quality is low on a leupld mk4. If someone happens to find a good deal on one I wouldn't shy away from it. I really like the TMR reticle and the glass is crispy clear. I don't mind the dials. I am not nessarly looking for low profile in a target tactical scope as my rifle isn't exactly low profile anyway. I have also found that my mk4 tracks very well and I have seen a vortex scope that didn't track well at all. Take it all with a grain of salt.

The leupold mark 6 3-18x44mm rifle scope was at the Orangville Huntfest. great looking scope 1st focal plain mil/mil and $3,000+ has very high reviews from the leo/mil crowd. Outside of my budget for the limited amount of shooting i do in Precision to warrant such a scope.

But again Very high praise from the people who use them for a living

I have a couple Leupold tactical scopes and I like them.

But the Leupold web site is so Byzantine, that it hurts my feelings.
