nothing worse than labeling a hunter as a murderer..

There is a difference between killing and murder.
Killing is taking the life from something, intentionally or not; Murder has a hateful intent to it, therefore when I shoot a deer and use it for food, I have killed it, but I do not hate it. How ever, when I have just planted corn and I see 5 crows out eating the seed, I get pissed as corn seed cost money, and are taking away from my food for next year and part of my income, i do begin to hate them- then I "murder" them with the 12 gauge.

That being said, Clay busters statement is pretty good

I'll take that a step further.

Gen 9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every
beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all
that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the
sea; into your hand are they delivered.
9:3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even
as the green herb have I given you all things.

AMEN!!11

Nice will have to add that to the list for quotes from the good book.
Also like. Off topic but still good.

Luke 22.36

He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a
bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.

I have found that non/anti-hunters generally have little or no knowledge of the wilderness and the species that inhabit it. Resource management is a foreign concept. They're not mallards, they're ducks. They're not antlers, they're horns. Etc....

Why not invite them to go hunting with you? Just by spending a day in the woods with them, you'll find yourself passing along tons of information that we all know they never had, but they may just begin to appreciate.

I've introduced 2 people to hunting this way and on both occaisions, we saw nice deer and upland game while on the hunt. Also, both admitted that they really enjoyed the experience and wanted to go again.

It sounds cheesy and outlandish, but by offering knock down the division, it's possible to bring more people into the realm of acceptance, and that's a good thing.

the difference between me and a anti-hunter who still eats meat is I'm comfortable harvesting, gutting and butchering my quarry where as MR/MRS. AntiHunter thinks he/she's a better person for paying a 3rd party to do the killing for him.......hypocrisy at its finest.

A hunter's quarry can escape in the wild....wild game have better eye sight, better sense of smell giving them the advantage over the hunter in the woods........where as the Cow, Pig, Chicken....ect that is raised solely to feed people have ZERO chance to escape or live a free life.

If it were not for hunters controlling the population of wildlife we would have deer running a muck all over town causing car accidents and property damage.

As towns and cities expand and encroach on wildlife territory managing wild game becomes a very important part of the picture as humans destroy the animals habitat competition for food and territory rise with out enough food animals will start to die of starvation and the population of predators will skyrocket.

I have all but given up trying to explain why I hunt to anti hunters. Its usually a loosing battle when you are speaking with someone who is completely ignorant on the topic, and has no intention of listening or educating themselves.

Though, when the real animal lovers start to cry, and tell me how awesome wildlife is, and why do I kill them, I always remind them that its hunters and fisherman that pay a big majority of the bills for wildlife management and conservation. Then I ask them when was the last time they donated any money to help out a cause that is supposedly so important to them. I have yet to meet anyone that has told me they do donate.

first off when I run into an anti the first thing I do is shake their hands and thank them for not being hunters. I then go on to explain that if everyone hunted there would be less good hunting spots for me in the woods. Usually leaves them speechless!

Most of these ignoramuses have never seen a slaughter house. Until they do, I have nothing to discuss with them.

How true so many people think that the meat they buy just magically falls from the animal and is nicely packaged and sent to the stores. When I have people ask me how can I hunt I just tell them

1) I cant eat beef or pork due to a stomach condition(Which is true) and the only red meat I can eat is deer or moose

2) How I get my meat is more humane then they way they get there's and will take them to a slaughter house to show them.

3) Mine is not pumped full of chemicals, and trust me after not eating beef for 9 years now I can smell the diffence blindfolded and beef smells bleachy to me.

4) We can just agree to disagree, I dont force my venison down your throat dont force your beef down mine!

every one here should read "the politically incorect guide to hunting" it has some pretty interesting information as well as a few like examples of this question

You could always tell the guy that you are the top of the food chain and are just asserting your right to live.

If they aren't a true vegan I usually just call them a hypocrite and laugh. True vegans I can actually respect for their conviction, even if I don't agree with them.

1. Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being. Hunting of animals cannot be murder by definition.

2. An animal being killed as a result of a fair chase has a more dignified death than that in a slaughterhouse. Besides, killing your own is more honest.

3. Humans are predators. It makes no more sense to criticise people eating meat/hunting than it is to criticise a coyote or a lion for doing the same thing.

4. Nature is pretty cruel. Ever watch a house cat play with a mouse? The more animals killed by hunting, the fewer die a worse death from disease, starvation, or predators.

I'm so sick of having my rights questioned, I won't even justify a logical argument with an anti.
If someone realizes I'm a hunter and doesn't like what I do, they can kiss my ass!

Just tell them that. "Kiss MY Ass"!
