Now HERE is a 375!

What a neat rifle.

I really like that .375 Chatfield Taylor idea. Seems like a cartridge you could load more friendly than the H&H, say 2500 fps, and still knock just about anything down.

The 375CT is very versatile, but really doesn't offer anything over the H&H other than plentiful brass and it's easy to fit into a 98 action.

I guess the idea I like is that of a .375 akin to the .338 Federal: moving heavy bullets at useful speeds in the woods.

Maybe the necked up .30-06 case is a better representation of that idea? I guess you'd get five in the mag that way but would velocities with 300 grains be reasonable compared to say a .45-70 marlin loaded hot?

Sounds like a 9.3x62. :)

My Brother made a 375 CT when he was staying at Bevan Kings a few years ago, but I can't remember what they used for an action.
About the same time they also built a 416 Taylor on an '03 Springfield that Bevan made an octagon barrel for and my Brother made the stock.
Apparently it shot very well and is an excellent Bison rifle.
