Salary and benefits are discussed with applicants by the Business Manager and is commensurate to experience.
Interesting, I am certain that here in BC, wages must be posted in any job offerings.

Either way, I for one would not even look at a job posting without an idea of possible wages or salary. One could say, $60,000.00 to $$80,000.00 per year depending on experience. Just my thoughts.......:)

You might lose out on some great applicants without this information.

For the record, I'm only trying to help, not judge. But wouldn't you folks want every qualified person to at least apply?

And have you guys looked at the cost of living these days? I hope you find a good fit for this position, feel free to delete my post if you find it inappropriate.......:)

This.

If you won't post a salary, I'm not even going to bother submitting an application. Always look for something greener, but if I have to jump through hoops to find out your salary or benefits package is 20-30k less than what I would expect, it's saving us both time to just put that up front.

Alberta doesn't have Salary Transparency legislation prior to hiring like in B.C., in which case Employment Standards Codes apply once a candidate is hired. In this job posting, compensation is discussed at the job interview with management. Alberta is currently aligned with the majority of provinces and territories in Canada regarding job postings, as is this posting.

I appreciate the response, thanks!....:)

I hope you do not lose out on that perfect fit.

I for one would not waste your time or mine, without a salary posting or expectation. Just my thoughts......;)

nice skrting around a valid answer

a minimum salary based on the minimum experience and credentials anticipated would be nice

your company(ies) produce some nice stuff but the cost of living in the city you operate from also makes a difference

renting u til the job seems secure and then buying a house, might be tough say in calgary for example

QUIT HIDING behind provincial legislation and use some common sense

and yes i was a very small owner of a company at head office and part of the less than 2 dozen co-owners of a company that sales were over 700 million a year so I have some knowledge of things, oh and a law degree from alberta as well

Did it ever occur to you that the principals of Black Box Customs might be motivated by something other than money? Maybe, in this posting, Black Box isn't interested in candidates who care about money. Maybe, instead, Black Box is attempting to target only applicants who are motivated by a genuine passion for Cerakote coatings and Prismatic powders. If this is the case, posting the salary would serve only to waste everyone's time.

I.E.: "Money whores need not apply." (They could have just come out and said that, but perhaps they're too polite.)

As someone who does some hiring, I agree with you completely. I get why an employer sometimes wants to keep their cards close to their vest, but not being upfront about a broad salary range most certainly does impact your applicant pool. Best of luck, there seems to be a fairly deep talent pool for this type of work!

Ahhh, the person that works for fun, not to pay their bills and get ahead. Passion doesn't pay my rent, car note, groceries, etc.... Living off a trust fund or still living with your parents?

I’m very EXCITED about Prismatic powders, can I load 6.5CM with it??
If so I’ll buy 1lb AFTER I see the $$ amount.

I understand that and see the reasoning behind such a ststement and indeed think that might be a consideration

BUT BUT BUT

Calgary is VERY EXPENSIVE

please re-read the above, they SHOULD have said semi-retired person as anyone else might have to put or add a COUPLE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS to live anywhere nice in calgary to EARN a few pennies,

Performance based incentives
kinda like a car dealer that sells 125 grand pickups in a small town, nobody has the money to buy but offers a 3 g bonus for each pickup sold, of which there will be no sales

Here is a sample of what we don't know

how many employees, any indication of annual sales or any company history one can research

they may be a great company but I have other questions and concerns that are not addressed by the ad

And to be a little blunt I am not certain they are really going to hire, just look at their market, their customer base and the pool of expansion is not like a normal business

other than time the co-owner videos shows TO ME a handle on the marketplace by the owners and more knowledge than anyone can bring to the table for under a hundred grand

not trying to derail the thread and I as well as others wish them a ton of luck but come on guys be a better business in order for this forum to fond your Diamond in the rough

vagueness does not cut it

and yes a couple of folks are not going to even ask for more information because of their ad and somewhat curious response

as they say in the industry

good luck with your sales

respectfully but bluntly or black and white-ee

Jeff

They do very nice work from what I’ve seen!! Pretty sure they don’t care about the peanut gallery on here. A person who loves what they’re doing is worth ten times what a financially motivated individual is!!

We really appreciate the engagement on our hiring thread. It’s great to see the industry supporting businesses navigating the challenges of the Canadian firearms market. Joking aside, we’re looking for team members who are genuinely passionate about what we do and excited to join the team. We’re not trying to withhold information, if salary is your main concern, you’re just one call or an email away from getting the details. But if this is a deal-breaker for you during a CGN listing, it’s probably not the best fit. Honestly, this might be the easiest way to weed out those who aren’t serious. ;)

Have a good weekend guys, don't forget to go out and touch some grass/snow.
