In my quest for restricted, time have come to shop for a brand new Sig...
Those who know them, what would be the most representative , best shooting and iconic pistol of the Sig line, i was thinking to get one in 40S&W or is it better to go with another caliber, with my readings and researchs, i will appreciate inputs of those of you who know about them... JP.

Just go right for the P210. it is by far the most iconic sig and arguably one of the best shooting, most accurate handguns period. (but hey, there are lots of good guns out there so i don't want to go overboard). i have read that some find the X5's and 6's work better for them.

Of the P22Xs, i definitely prefer the 220s. the narrower grip just works better for me. With the exception of the X versions, the P220 5" match elite with the aluminum grips is definitely my favourite.

but at the end of the day, a p210 is the last restricted I'll ever sell.

to add - there is a screaming deal on a p210 target legend on ee now. These variant won't go for less than $3K new. You could also go for a classic swiss made version if you were so inclined and wanted more of a collectible. can't go wrong either way IMO.

IMO, you can not go wrong with any SIG. My favorite was, a P220 Match SAO in .45 ACP. If I was to suggest a first SIG though, it would be a P226 with a SRT in 9mm.

P210 all the way JP. I've already told you that the P210 is the best 9mm pistol I've ever shot. If you want to go .40 S&W, the X5L1 in the Sig lineup would be the one to get without a doubt.

In regards to the P210 on the EE right now, I've PM'd an I'll take it to the seller about 7 minutes after he posted his WTS thread. Hopefully it's mine. I simply love the P210 in all it's versions and will never have enough of them.

Some dealers may get one or two in stock from time to time and they sure wont last long in their inventory. They are normally special ordered and can take a year or more to get.

Thanks HC.... I am gonna send a few emails to some of my main mens... JP.

JP,
I agree with HC. SIGs are Swiss made guns to start. All the North American ones now are good but just not the same. For a man of your position and status on this site, I definitely agree a limited edition P210 presentation model safe queen, a P210 shooter, a German P or X series, American made P series then the 1911s in that order. Enjoy!

Call Calgary Shooting Centre. They had some new German ones and classic Swiss ones in stock when I called last week.
Also I believe Reliable has some too. They have the silver ones on the web site but these are now sold.
CRAFM has a legend listed on the site. If still in stock, you could at least drive there and check it out.

How about this one....
