Now that clubs re open, any clubs with odd restrictions?

My club hasn't announced anything other than "we're coming up with a plan to reopen". Like they couldn't have done that while sitting on their asses these past two months? All they need to say is "stick to your lane, wipe the table down after/before shooting". SMH.

I know.... Its ridiculous. Any other clubs say no removeable chokes?
Which club?

My club has basic restrictions. No more than 5 in the clubhouse, no guests, membership card visible at all times, every second shooting position closed for social distance and while not requiring them a recommendation to wear gloves and a mask and to bring and use hand sanitizer.

EOSC reopened with some bizarre restrictions. I'm assuming they're following some level of governments guidelines. It's an outdoor club...

One I find scratching my head is.. They only opened up 3 bays to maintain the 6ft distance, but allows 5 people. You need to book a 1.5 hr time slot. If there is only 3 spots to shoot, what's the point of the 2 others being there? And no guests.

Basic physical separation. Basic sanitizing measures. e.g. - use your own stapler, or wipe down a range unit after use.

My clubs reopening measures are focused on health and transmission prevention. Has not said one word about whether or not they will be self policing the ban.

I full expect to see AR15s at the range every time I go.

Saskatchewan rules specific to gun ranges (from Saskatchewan website) -

For general workplace guidelines, please refer to COVID-19 Workplace Information on P. 12. All operators in Saskatchewan must be in compliance with these guidelines. The information below provides information for outdoor recreation operations, such as archery/gun ranges, which can begin operation on May 15, 2020.

 Group recreation operations are not allowed at this time.
 All operators must take precautionary measures, including expanding the cleaning and disinfecting of common and high-touch surfaces in accordance with the public health order
 Physical distancing must observed at all times, with a minimum of two metres of space between individuals.
 No more than 10 people are allowed to gather at one time.
 No competitions or fundraising events permitted.
 Members who are sick or symptomatic must not enter/participate.
 Indoor activities are restricted until Phase Four of Re-Open Saskatchewan.
 Individual instruction may be permitted with no contact and appropriate physical distancing. No group instruction.
 Clubhouse facilities must remain closed.
 Washrooms may be open, but increased cleaning and disinfection must take place.
 All food and beverage service is suspended, except curbside pick-up and delivery.
 Locker rooms must be closed.
 Equipment rentals are permitted, but must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each rental.

Distancing rules, and cleaning rules, and a rule about not leaving garbage take it home. But other then that the rules are the same. I'm impressed with my range, these guys don't screw around with odd rules and regulations.

My club isnt allowing removeable chokes for now. Anyone else have anything like this at thier club?

Laugh2

I'm sorry. That's truly sad. Somebody is playing politics at your expense. :(

Ever since the Ed Burlew opinion that upper limit shotgun bore diameter is determined by the counterbored portion where choke tubes are installed, there has been great indignation on CGN about how all these conventional sporting shotguns are now prohibited.
A club accepts this interpretation, as do many members here, and blocks the use of these apparently prohibited firearms.
The government denies that this bore interpretation is correct, that there is no problem with shotguns with removable choke tubes.
Either the guns are banned or not. Can't have it both ways. Burlew says banned, government says not.
If the club allows these guns, it is accepting the government's interpretation, and that would suggest that the Burlew interpretation is just a red herring.
Is it?

32 or 34 people at a time, 2 hours shooting at a time. Spaced out around range, sign in with someone now as opposed to sign yourself in. Will see what it’s like in a few days.

Depends on whether you are shooter or not.
