NR 3 gun options?

I can go pick it up as soon as I know you are coming, do you want to stop at 20,000rnds or keep going? I think ATRS would also be interested in seeing this torture test recorded.

Might actually have to get a retailer on board with this as im sure some sort of legal limit of gunpowder in my possession would be exceeded if not

Ship/Deliver the 20k rounds to Saskatoon and I'll make it happen :p. I've been looking for an ammo sponsor.

Might take me a couple months with Canadian mags haha...

20000 rounds is about 9000$
but yah Id like to see that
it is a relevant 3 gun test since an ordinary AR training weekend will run 1500 rounds, youll do at least 3 weekends a year + competitions + your own training, you are definately going to see 10000 rounds on a rifle per year. if it lasts 20k that means 2 years only if you treat it as a race gun

If only a guy had the budget/schedule for that kind of shooting... I'm probably closer to 3-4k/year on rifle. I guess if I want to stop missing those targets I'll have to step it up.

Its a package deal, Me and the ammo, I dont ship nothing and if rifle fails I take rest of ammo home

It's a torture test like those done at the proving grounds, not something that will be done at your leisure

last year i burned through 8000 rounds of 223 ringing steel, but across 7 rifles, one long training weekend with the tavor burned through 2k rounds of that and 2 of my knees

Obviously I have no intentions of roasting a $4000 rifle to please some internet trolls :p

The op's criteria is a good indication he's in it for fun.
Buy a rifle that floats your boat and get good with it.

I compete with an XCR, I have a blast, and I do well.
I don't do 3 gun though, they're a tough crowd.

If you're good with the 305, buy some 10 rounders and run it.

I didn't think we were done discussing why you backed out of putting your rifle through durability testing like those run at the proving grounds.

Lol, well I can tell from your post count and lack of ability to post anything related to the original topic that you have much more stamina for wasting time on the internet than I do. Congratulations Brian46, you win the internets!

SOOOOOO, enough penile thrashing you two. Back on topic. Now I don't play 3 gun, but can "the rifle" be a pistol caliber carbine? Or does it have to be a rifle? Like, can the OP use a sub 2K, or JR carbine, or thureon defense, etc?

'Depends on the match.
Any 3-gun match I've ever shot was for pistol, RIFLE and shotgun... PCC's are not rifles in my opinion. They're just really big pistols.. LoL

Unless you're Bob Munden you're not going to hit rifle targets at range with a 9mm PCC.

as already said, depends on the match, if range for that particular setup is not that far away you could do quite well with a pcc

By definition a shoulder controlled firearm with a rifled barrel is in fact a rifle. PCC is a sub set of the rifle family.

XCR, Tavor, ACR, Swiss Arms, APC 556, SL8, or a VZ-58 are all good options. I've owned all except for the APC 556, Tavor and XCR, and of those I've had lots of trigger time behind the Tavor and XCR. My favourite of the bunch is the Swiss Arms followed closely by the ACR. I eagerly await the APC as it may be the new king, but I won't know that until I get a few thousand rounds through one.

Exactly why it is important to have a minimum power factor... Or put targets out at 300....ppc is not a rifle in 3 gun just like how 22lr isn't
