It is my understanding that the BCR Team has won the Plate Match way to go boys.:D .The BCR's had to make do with borrowed C7 rifles from another team, Longshot's score was below normal this was due to a rifle that was not sighted in and from reports got 12" groups @ 100m:eek: Still a good showing good work guys :)

apparently LS has a new rifle in his hands now and it shoots ok, so his scores have come up. Rooster33 is doing good too I hear.

try to punch him in the head, he loves it when people try to do that! if he asks why you tried, just tell hiim I told you to. It'll all be a big laugh..............

(ok it'll only be me laughing)

Saw the Hawian shirt. Each day it kept getting brighter or my eyes more tired.
What a great time long weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Every Cdn shooter should try at least once in their lifetime to get there and shoot the Cannaught Range.
Saw on the news this am what blew through on Monday night.
The evenings spent on the old mess veranda sippin cold ones and listenin to the Navies guitar pickin trubador was almost as as much fun as the shooting time.
Heck I traded 1 Glock pen for a whole mess of Navy Swag. Was told Air couldn't afford swag giveaways as they were spending the budget on duck tape for the helos!
Did anyone get ahold of that photog and get a copy of the group pic?

Perhaps a smack in the head might have done me some good ;) .
I'm back. The matches were really well run by Tim K and Keith.Well done fellas!
As for me and the western contingent...well...Rooster33 kicked some but in SR.The BCR team had a few "problems" ,shall we say, with some of those things that vaguely resembled rifles we were issued from a quebec regiment.
Fellas I'm not trying to make excuses but it was bad. When we asked our driver if they were good rifles that they gave us his exact words were,in broken english,"yeah they are the best ones.Never even been fired".Well perhaps they hadn't been fired...but I think they had been sent on every basic training since they were made in '83.The upper and lowers didn't even match and there was so much slop between them that I could see daylight.I tried to find the three best and believe me it wasn't good.I went through two rifles with my elcan on top that wouldn't shoot anything less than 10 inches at 100m.First time I've ever thrown a rifle.Well it had my scope on it so it was more like a little toss ;) Finally the first day came and I decided to borrow a rifle.Navyshooter was a huge help in giving me a loner rifle that actually could shoot. The problem was however that if I put my scope on I would have no zeros. So I went with his which seemed to be good to go.First match at 200m delib I smashed in a 49-5v.Good to go I thought!Next match was kneeling snap.Felt good and I was confident.Target comes up and has 1 hit on it.####!What the hell?No idea where they were going.200m rapid.2 sighters were on.target comes up with 4 hits.this time I figure out they were going high and right.Total score 20.200-100m rundown.I aim a foot low and right off the figure 12 and salvage a 44.Second match and I'm done.No chance of making up 80 some odd points.
that night I put on my scope and went and got a rough zero.Life was good again and I shot accordingly.Too little too late though.
I managed to win match 7 and get a gong for the reserves and the boys and I did manage to snatch the falling plates from the infantry  :D :D :D
Nice trophy!

Sniper went well with me and Rooster33 teaming up.I belive we came in 3rd or 4th overall. Not bad.I managed to shoot a 45/50 at 800m in a 6 minute wind.Fun fun!
More later I'm late for work!;)

Thanks,
Good for him.Nice new toy .
Shoulda seen how fast that old bugger can run!!!!!and still hit those plates!!!!
He and Thomas sure put on a good showing in Precision Plates Match.
Guess he wanted to impress the wife who was locked up and watching from his truck in the parking lot.Talk about an understanding wife, to sit in that heat cheering the old guy on!
And when you read this Terry, bring the new rifle with you to Mons and we'll break it..................................in:)

Just for the record,Rooster33 and I tied those two in the sniper plates match. It was decided by the one extra round they had left over while we had none.:)

Well I think for all her support Terry you now have a rifle to scope out and get her shooting.Nothing against your partner Thomas, but she's MUCH better looking.
And I think next year they'll have a match for us nonrunners....Drive By Plates!!!

Reminds me of '98 when my Elcan broke apart (top/bottom seperation) AFTER I fired my 200m sighters... I actually ran back to the truck to get a "spare" scope between shooters... Nothing like a 400m sprint to warm you up for a deliberate match... ;)

Good to see you guys representing the west.

I have a list around here of the various folks that were present, TimK provided it to me.

Lemme look.

Ok, the list that was provided to me is:

Longshot
Myself
Rooster33
TLUF
NavalSniper
LEG
Highlander80
270 to the end
Quiet
D

I'm pretty sure there were others present, but these were the ones that signed in with Tim.

The shoots were great, and it was a grand time with everyone there. Some good souvies, a few less gophers, and a good time had by all!

Oh, and the shirts....hehehehe

Knew I should have wore a nametag....ONT0001.
Shot precision rifle with AL as a partner.
One of the "walking challenged" that had truck range pass.
Came in real handy during the downpour.
How bout CGN Name tags for next get together.?????????????????

You guys found some gophers?Damn everytime I saw one he was either on the same mound down the line or so far across the range that it would have been out of the arcs. It's like they know and don't stick up thier heads. The way I was shooting I would have gladly thrown a shot from one of the matches to whack one of the little bastards ;)
