Numrich did it to me AGAIN!!!!

Numrich are great! We've ordered a ton of stuff from them and their service is fantastic. There are a few items that are controlled and they won't ship for example folding shotgun and rifle stocks but if you happen to select an item that they won't ship they will notify you and give you the option to cancel, modify or continue with the remainder of your order.

Good to know. Do they handle the paperwork aspect the same way Brownell's does?

They do all the paperwork. Basically add everything to your cart and checkout and within a couple days you get a tracking number and it will ship.

I did notice that for some reason they tend to break up shipments. I've had one order ship in 3 separate shipments before. Doesn't make any difference to me either way but you should know, just in case you have a parcel arrive and there's missing half your order, it's coming in another packet.

You have to order by phone, give them the items stock number, address and payment. They do everything else. I bought some rifle parts from them and the only item that I could not get was a barrel.

You can order over the net. Every single one of my orders was online.

Hmm, looks like I might need to put in an order. Do you know what their limit is?

I just received a set of Ahrens retro combat grips for my S&W M66 snubby from Brownells - $55 after the ex-military discount, no import duty. Got here in one week. Ahrens does not ship to Canada.

What's that got to do with Numrich?

You should always buy a few parts and get it closer to the export limit, so the fees involved aren't that ominous. I know it used to be $100, I believe it to be higher now...

This thread has nothing to do with the export limit.

I understand that... what I do is wait until I need more items then the shipping/export fees won't bother me as much, rather than those fees being larger than the small item I bought.

Everyone knows Numrich has export fees to Canada, it's listed right on their site. It's one of the very few places that will ship here.

Not a damn thing. Just an illustration that you need to know the export policy of the company you're dealing with. Otherwise you get to snivel and whine that you got taken. Buyer beware.

Alles klar?

$1,000 for Canada.
Used to be $100 then $200 then $500 so they're improving!

Back when it was $100 it was a total pain in the ass.

That's awesome. I'm really only looking for about 100 bucks worth or parts, but maybe I'll run it up to get better value out of it.

Aber sicher, alles klar! What people forget - and this happened to me - buy small parts for $30 ( necessary for the gun to function ), get slapped with 40 surcharge and the shipping. End up with 120 CAD, since we were talking US...And give a firearm back its 500 value instead of being a 130 parts gun. Do I buy at Numrich often? Nope, but if I have to, I do...because they have stuff you won't get anywhere else.

If anyone thinks they might in future be ordering from Numrich and would like to group stuff to spread that export handling surcharge, feel free to make note of me. I could always take a look at their site and I think it's very possible I'd find couple things I'd buy.

Correct. Many items there are rather scarce, we are lucky that they'll ship here when the vast majority won't.

Either way you pay... LOL

Western Gun Parts out of Edmonton has a lot of old obsolete parts... Being in Canada shipping will/should be cheaper than from an American outfit, but... On the parts I've looked for their prices are much higher.

I recently sought an extractor for a 60 year old Mossberg 151MB. WGP's price was 4X higher than Numrich's... LOL.

It all boils down to how badly you want/need something.
I look at shipping as a separate and exclusive cost. Like I said... paying a seemingly high shipping rate is pretty much always less expensive than going and picking up your order yourself.
I mean how much would YOU charge someone to personally deliver an item 500, 1000. 4000, km" away..?
