I love Nutnfancy's reviews. Here is his new one on the XCR for us guys that want a non-restricted carbine.

I like everything about the review except I don't agree with him when it comes to accuracy. I really think If you want to test a rifles performance you really need to use match ammo and good optics.

Don't get me wrong I think he's doing a cool thing but he's kind of weird and not always giving accurate information. He's apart of the Chairforce meaning he has little knowledge of what is and isn't effective on the battlefield which it would appear most of his videos garner towards. Refusing to take part in forums despite the large amount of good information that can be had on sites like LF.

He's been active in the military for something like 19 years. Hes a little wierd, but who isnt? Dude knows his stuff.

he does seems a bit arm chair commando ish at times and he always hints at LEO and Mil jobs without stating what they really are so as far as im concerned doesn t really lend any credence to his supposed experience.

This is a really good review of the XCR in my opinion. It echos many of the thoughts that we encountered with our rifles. Once you get it squared away, it is a pretty good gun. And it is impressive that a small company brought it to market.

Glad he talks about the problems of all those bolts on the XCR, and the teething/quality control problems that many have experienced. I think he does it in a fair fashion.

2-3MOA with bulk ammo. Yeah, what can you expect, but at least he is honest. What's that weird red thing he is shooting off in the video though?:nest:

The recoil pulse, weight, and trigger are all what we encountered as well. The charging handle banging into your gut is also something I ran into. Not a showstopper. Just means using the integrated single point sling adapter may be an issue.

On the topic of Nutn, I find some of his points to be very accurate others very biased and unfounded at times. XCR is awesome rifle and I would love to get one at some point, but he seems to very ignorant of European firearms and makes many ignorant and weird opinions on certain manufactures.(Mostly Foreign). XCR will not outperform a HK416 unless the HK416 has been through extensive use of wear & tear. Possibly some of the newer versions, but i have not seen or used any of them lately, and I still doubt that highly. He always attacks Hk every chance he gets along with any other European manufacture. I have notice this several times now, very typical American made only attitude.

Mind you I like North American made products!

I can't take that guy seriously...I have seen him say too much dumbass BS, and if a guy gets half his info right and half his info wrong, then he's not somebody I'm going to go listening to for advice.

Besides which I can't take the incredibly slow pace of information delivery...FFS write a damn script and get us through the 15 minutes of info in 15 minutes...not 50.

Have to admit though (have the review going in another window here) that I'm about halfway through and for the most part I do agree with the OP...I mostly agree with what he's saying about it, caliber conversion is hokey, I agree, barrel retaining system questionable, for sure, and yeah, that scope and mount...are you serious? To test the rifle's accuracy you need a KNOWN GOOD scope and mount, not an unknown one.

That's exactly the kind of thing that makes me not like this guy.

I get 1 moa groups with my XCR often, and was blowing the hell out of clay pigeons @ over 200 yards yesterday.
And that was before I installed the match trigger.
I guess either that's not good enough for Nutin, or he's not a good enough shot for the XCR.

I like his reviews though and he is entertaining , but I take it with a large grain of salt.

That guy is a complete toolbox.
He knows just enough to be dangerous, but thinks he's the king sh!t.
