Nutnfancy's XCR Review

I really wish that the nutnfancy guy would be less eloquent (and get to the point - everything in his review could have been done in 15 - 20 minutes, not in 50), and if he's reviewing hardware, at least get a currentish model of the firearm, and not something from 5 years ago. Would you review a Mazda from the late 90s, and say that current Mazdas have the same problems?

Just like current Colt offerings, like 6920s, have seen a number of reliability upgrades and fixes as compared to M16s of VietNam era, same way current XCRs have seen a number of upgrades and reliability fixes from the XCRs sold 3 - 7 years ago.

As an aside, some days I am very tempted to go snobbish on AR-15 guys, and point out that Lee-Enfields, AK-47s, and Paul Mauser's designs are the tried, tested and true ones, and M4rgeries are these newfangled things that need more testing :stirthepot2:

This guy caters to the most common group of gun enthusiasts out there: the ignorant and the posers.

A telltale sign of a tactical poser is OD Duracoat on everything and flag patches on every garment and bag.

Good Lord, we can't even have a thread about a REVIEW of the XCR without the XCRbashers invading. Give it a rest, we know how you feel.

At first glance I thought the XCR had all the advantages of the AR15 and AK without the cons. The review helped me to have a more realistic vision of the XRC.

I still think the XRC is a good rifle, but looks like it needs more fine tuning. And it’s normal because it’s a relatively young rifle. For the money it sells in Canada, I’d expect it (as any other black rifle) to be far in front of the competition, but to my opinion, it’s not there yet. If it was on par with AR pricing, I'd get one right away.

I own one of the "new gen" XCR's, and many of the problems buddy raises are moot at this point. Sure, a 'young' rifle will have issues, but most if not all of those issues have been worked out. I have no regrets having bought an XCR myself, and only one stoppage, which was due to user error, not technical flaw.

There was some problem with the first generation xcr. But most of the problems are fixed on the second generation. I would never trade a xcr for an ar. no matter how good the AR is. Non restricted > Restricted by a long shot.
