Nutnfancy's XCR Review

His 50 minute reviews could be cut down to 15 if he did a little more reviewing and a little less restating things he has already said.

He has some good reviews but I think all of his expierience is on a range and not a battlefield.

Well then don't watch him. He gives his impression on the gun as well as others give theirs on youtube as well.

Plus what he does is pretty much what most consumers of said product will be doing too. I like his reviews, he gets side tracked a lot which usually adds the time to the reviews.

Lots of hate for this guy, jeez. I just thought I would like to share a review on a rifle as a lot of us have never even seen one other than pictures.

:eek:Let me get this straight people send him wpns and knifes and kit for FREE !!!!:eek::eek: All he has to do is play with the stuff with a s**tty handheld camera on, spew whatever comes to mind and post it on YouTUBE!!?:eek::eek:WTF sign me up billy I''ll do this and I'll even edit the video !!!!!;)(something this guy does not feel the need for, hard to edit random threads of verbal diarrhea I guess:puke:)

Yeah, and oddly, as bad has he is, he is one of the most prolific reviewers of kit.

The whole sheepdog drivel is just laughable.
I found that concept a bit eyebrow-raising as well. Especially during his video about the subject.... no doubt, he doesn't fail to mention how he is a sheepdog... several times... Everyone has it in them to protect themselves and others, just sometimes you have to strip off several layers of social conditioning to get to it.

I think the guy is very representative of your average wannabe you can find lurking around gun stores. True he doesn't appear to know everything about firearms but he did kinda disclaim that in the beginning.

I think he's a clown for sure, but I do however agree with most of his points. For example, it IS obnoxious how the gas tube rattles and the bolt catch is jiggly. It's also a pain that the rifle only cracks open as far as it does. He's right that the parts can fly off your rifle if you don't loctite them on and that the rifle is quite heavy for what it is. The barrel retaining method is a big concern. All that holds it in is one screw...basically a set screw type design that you do not loctite.

There were lots of good points mixed in with all the "dudes" and the "keepin it reals". All in all I wouldn't say it was a great review but it was an honest, unbiased one.

Oh and before the XCR fanboys come running in to the defense of their rifles, I've owned one, shot the piss out of it and decided it had too many faults (areas to improve) to continue owning it.

Not to derail this thread, I completely and whole heartedly disagree. Some people are just sheep...born and raised that way. Some sheep pretend to be dogs but when it comes down to it, they will revert back to being sheep.

Holy, so many judge mental people here (as usual) the vid showed me good close ups of function, fit and finish. He also described alot of relevant cons and sure some pros. Overall the vid review is decent, just too long.

I do like nutn he seems like decent down to earth dude, hes a little nutty, sure... but pobodys nerfect. I wouldn't mind going to the range with him for a day...

PS his other reviews on the G17 I found very helpful when making a buying decision. Thanks for the post MP

Decent review. I personally really like nutnfancy. Lots of the time, he gives me good insight on camping gear, and really lets me take a good look at it while he fiddles around. I can agree sometimes he's really played out sometimes with super long videos, but at least the length is there should you choose to watch it. He's doing a better job than anyone else taking their time for youtube in my opinion. After all, its just another dood. Dragging camera gear along with him on his trips etc. I give him credit on trying all his gear out, whether it be at a range instead of a battlefield.

I like that he doesnt pay a lot of attention on forums. Sometimes I know I can get worked up over opinions on forums. At least with nutnfancy, we can put a face to a name, and see him actually use the things he's reviewing as opposed to playing "telephone" (passing along facts with a "twist" etc), which is the case on forums more often than not.

I like his reviews. I think people see that he's a bit goofy, and the first impression sours them on everything that he puts out. Many of his reviews are solid and the videos show him actually using the kit in question. However, much of his preaching and his tinge of arrogance can be a huge put off, but I take it with a grain of salt. I don't agree with everything he says, but these people that bombard him with unfounded hatred make me sick.

A few things I've noticed about his reviews:

1) He's actually fairly entertaining. I dont agree with some of the things he says, but he is a personable sort of guy.

2) Someone needs to teach him about motion graphics. there is no reason that he needs to use (in a lot of his reviews) a piece of paper with talking points. He could refer to an offscreen list and add the points in as he's talking about them.

3) An intro should be short and to the point. Perhaps he needs to use the "small" or "medium" versions of his generic music instead of the full ones, so we dont get 3-4 minutes of annoying photos and music before the review.

4) Like already said, he needs to write a script and stick to it.

I'll agree with this. He is entertaining. I was beginning to wonder if there was even going to be a review....man that intro was long!

Personally I like his vids. I don't really see why everyone's bringing the hate on this guy.
His coverage on SHOT show was pretty good too...

He's a mall ninja, just check out some of his other videos.......and.....IMHO 19yrs of military experience does not qualify you as an expert.....research, training, and rounds down range do.

19 years of experience makes you knowledgeable about whatever you did for those 19 years... something tells me he's not a weapons tech.

His videos are about twice as long as they need to be, but I know of nothing consistently better on Youtube, and certainly nothing with the breadth of topics.
