***OFFICIAL*** FAMAE SG 542 SEMI-AUTO .308 is NON-RESTRICTED **ACCEPTING PRE-ORDERS**

will everyone who ordered before July 31 recieve their rifle(s) in the first shipment batch?
I ordered mine on the 3rd day after the announcement I think and I'm getting antsy waiting for it lol

Holy goddamn!

7.62x51mm, military-grade semi for under $2700... This is the BEST thing to happen to the Canadian firearm market since I can remember, and it's GREAT value.
ETA: Deposit inbound!

FYI 2013 pricing came in aprox 25% higher than 2012 pricing due to material cost increases. Pricing is likely to increase once the rifles land.

Preordering insures against any potential price increases!

Are you likely to bring in any of other stuff FAMAE make? I've always fancied one of their pistols. It's a licensed copy of the Beretta, so it's never been available outside of Chile but maybe they would be okay with shipping to Canada, I don't know.

Fixed, I hear a few lbs of plastic and steel is worth thousands of dollars down in chile these days

There's over 7 billion people on this Earth right now competing for the few scraps of land, metal, oil and water remaining. Life ain't getting ANY cheaper, that's for sure.

Obviously you not in the business of making things, or shipping things, or even finding resources. Travel the world and visit a few mine sites, see just how hard it is to source raw materials and turn them into something useable. Capital cost to make plastic is in the billions, yes there are a few bottlenecks in the process which increase costs. In fact you are always free to head down to the local machine shop and have them one off one of these for you.... let us know what that costs you. You will be lucky if it comes in under $10K. Complaining about prices here, only reflects ones lack of understanding of manufacturing, and the process of making high quality kit for a reasonable price. Most complainers are the first in line to up the minimum wage, as they are always entitled to a high standard of living.

These entitled posts of ...it costs too much..... in these retailers forums need to be called out for what they are and those who make them need to be called out.

Its old, its rude, it unnecessary.

If you can't afford move on... if you can.... buy it. Its just that simple. but to stick around and complain is wrong. Go make it yourself then.... there is always a solution that doesn't involve complaining.

Well said my friend! Someone that works in exploration, I can confirm that my company literally spends billions, assuming huge risks, to develop mines that *MIGHT* be profitable if the economic conditions are right. All this so that Joe Schmuck and his chubby spoiled kids can go to the Costco and load up on cheap crap. Right now, energy is cheap, fossil fuels have given us a free ride so far.

Be prepared for SHTF once we've burned the last litre of gas or chunk of coal.

Thanks for showing me that and you are right, I have little knowledge of the true cost of production materials. I have edited my post, and am sorry for speaking from ignorance. Thanks for educating me.

We still have our sights on the CT9, no word as of yet. No plans for the pistols at this point in time.

Just a few questions I haven't seen answered yet:

How will the rifles be stamped? I hope it will be minimalistic, and to the point, and won't include importer name (I dislike the stamping on the ERE-supplied rifles).

I know you list a special 475 mm barrel for Canadian requirements which is a bit longer than the current military rifle, are these barrels manufactured the same way and to the full military specification?

Thanks.

DoubleA TI answered this question. no import markings, FWIW the markings have NO AFFECT on the function of the rifle. if buying for looks, buy art.

Ok thanks. If I could get the same rifle without ugly importer vandalism etched all over the receiver (like the ERE series), I would rather take the "clean" rifle given the choice. But I'd still prefer the TI rifle simply because I like their business model.
