Official XCR-M Release!

Here's a couple unpleasent solutions:
1) go to India and sell your kidney.
2) sell other firearms.

I'm personally opting for #2. Will be selling my Troy MCS-upgraded shorty Norc M14S that is now obsolete.
Or ask this guy for some ideas;

Whilst I don't share you view on what makes a big game rifle, I will be pleased to raise the price to meet your expectations. Seriously, when we try and match the US retail and factor in a Canadian dealer discount, coupled with the limited quantities we can import at a time, add in the importation cost, these are not very profitable for us, but we try and please.

And as long as you keep bringing things like this in, no one will care if you have a philosophical disagreement on what a big game hunting rifle should look like.

Just got an email from Aaron at RobArm:

"The XCR-M will accept any AR/SR-25 pattern magazine."

:D I don't know exactly what that means but I'm assuming it will accept AR-10 mags. Are the PMAGs SR-25 pattern?

magpul LR-20's I think are the DPMS pattern.

I think their are two main pattern of mags, the Armalite pattern and the DPMS pattern.

The DPMS pattern is what KAC, LMT, POF all use, and is what the XCR-M uses too.

So are you saying the XCR-M will use both? Because Aaron at RobArm just said it accepts the AR (Which would be armalite) pattern mag....

What are the differences between the DPMS and Armalite spec? I can't find any drawings or details on the interwebs...

No, the XCR will take the DPMS pattern mags, not the Armalite pattern mags. The DMPS pattern has become the >308 AR standard by the look of things.

But anyways short version is yes, the XCR will take the Magpul LR-20 mags. (I tend to over complicate things with pointless info when a short answer would do. then what usually happens is I end up being wrong or something lol)

Also note I could be useing the wrong names of the patterns.

OK, so the AR/SR-25 is the DPMS Pattern... vs. just AR/Armalite pattern...

It looks like the Armalite pattern is very similar to the M14 pattern mags... do the M14 mags have anything in common with the DPMS pattern?

Nope no common ground between the DPMS pattern as the M14 mags are rock in mags and the DPMS are just like regular AR mags. The Magpul 308 Pmags are where its at. I have 10 already.

Armalite AR10 takes a modified M14 mag

The rest of the world uses SR25 mags - which magpul LR -20 is patterned after.

That is why Armalite AR10 is dead in the water now. Their rationale of using M14 mag is based on the AWB which has long expired.
