OK I am bragging.....mount pics posted

Thanks folks. Yes it IS a heck of a nice buck.

The taxidermist did an excellent job, I think. I had taken the whole (field-dressed) deer to him so that he could cape it out properly. No sense me trying to do something that a guy makes his living at. And we discussed how I wanted the finished mount to look. He is a local lad, near Napanee Ontario, name is Roger Reynolds, R&S Taxidermy, (613) 354-9299.

Yes my basement ceiling is unfinished, just like I want it. This is my "man cave." :D

And one of these years I am going to get that rack scored too!

Well MY basement is adorned with 160 year old plank and timber, antique plumbing and out of code wiring! ( Did I mention LOTS of spider webs! ).
And I am currently doing my annual re-decoration with about 7 cords of fine ash , oak and maple!

I knew it was one of Rogers mounts as soon as I saw it. He has done some of the most lifelike I have ever seen, and lots of guys say the same. And last I checked it would be hard to find a more reasonable price.

Correct on all counts.

I was at my local bank the other day, and they had some circular wooden items on the counter top in front of the teller. I examined them and inquired if they were FREE. I was invited to take one, which I did. It is not a wooden nickle, but an engraved piece of pine annotated ROUND TUIT.

OK, now that I finally got a ROUND TUIT, I am getting the rack scored by a FROW scorer who lives here in Kingston. Brian is a hockey dad, and his lads are in hockey for about another month. But probably in April, I will finally get this rack scored.

It being two and a half years since I shot him, his weight has increased somewhat and I think he was about five hundred pounds on the hoof, maybe a hair less...............:D

Very nice Doug. Glad to see the taxidermist did your buck justice. You could always measure and score it yourself but with that shrinkage thing you have experienced with age it may take a while measuring it 3" at a time, though bending the measuring device around the curves should no longer be an issue at your age..............:D
