I've been reading for years posts that praise the wonders of the SKS
Never really gave them much credit as I thought (and still think) that the SKS is as ugly as a fence post, and, I'm not a big fan so semi-autos in general.
I acquired some reloading dies and a scope mount through a "wheel & deal" so I purchased a Norinco SKS figuring that I could "wheel & deal" it as a package on some thing "good". Unfortunately I made the mistake of taking it out to the range and now I not only have to keep it I will probably have to buy a couple more.
I will use this gun for hunting (hopefully for a spring bear as I live near a WLMU that will have a hunt in 2014) so it will have some mods. I have ordered an ATI Monty Carlo stock and intend to remove the bayonet lug.
For me, it is great that I can take it to the range and blaze away in semi-auto with cheap milsup ammo, or work up a good hunting reload and hunt with it as a straight pull bolt action.
I foresee the SKS as my next addiction.
