sweeet!

Ardent, I'll bet she's pretty jumpy with 300 Hp, my PA 32-300 is impressive in how quick it comes off the ground with a much bigger airframe, I'll bet that Wilga is more so.
And just for the SOMA records........I have been in 3 light aircraft crashes (complete write offs), and 2 fender benders and a prop strike, which I flew out.

I got a deal for you Angus, you let me drive yours and I'll let you drive mine........I have flown floats but never got the endorsement, my kid did and has never used it since.

Same. I got my wife shooting when we married, and she's now my sole hunting partner. The comment that accompanied the eye-roll was about how many shotguns we needed if they were all going to be 12 gauge- she wanted a 20! I said sure.

So this case is one of slightly smaller s-hooters than yours c-fbmi, but she's a petite gal, and this is how collections get started...

She loved the pictures by the way, c-fbmi. She's a big fan of Taxidermy mounts.

Well RMR, you appear to live in BC, bring her on over for a visit !! She can get a close up view of all the mounts. And I know, you probably want to play with my big s-hooters, don't ya?

Sold! Yea she gets up and boogies. Sllllow with all that STOL gear hanging on the wings though, I cruise it at 85kts. You'll love the visibility, almost like a heli.

Good god you're more SOMA'd than I thought re: the crashes!

Now I know even though virtually all who peruse these hallowed halls, are gun nuts, some are asking why anyone would have THAT many firearms. I'm going to tell you my logic and this is in all seriousness.

I truly believe that in my lifetime we will see the collapse the American, and our governments, it doesn't take a prophet to see what is going on and realize it cannot and will not continue, as is. When (or if) this does happen there is only one, short term possible, outcome and that is anarchy. The only things of value will be food and shelter and the means to keep and protect it, firearms. It will start with food shortages in the cities, once they are depleted, gangs of hungry, violent, inner city thugs, will be foraying out from the cities to find and take, by whatever means necessary, food and shelter. They won't be bush savvy or particularly bright, but they will be violent and somewhat successful. Right up until they meet people such as us, who know how to use firearms and will meet their lethal intent with our skilled lethal intent. The quantities of firearms and ammo that I have ensure that I can break a few and run out of ammo for a few, but I'll be in the fight until the bitter end, what ever outcome that may be.
I know many will think this is bunk and our Gov'ts can't fail, but I assure you they can and quite possibly will. I am not a rampant survivalist/anarchist, but I am a relatively bright person, and do know a bit about societies and human nature, and I believe this scenario is a distinct possibility. My wife agrees and supports my collection of firearms and ammo.
Now on the other hand, if some sort of crisis is by chance avoided and our Govt's do manage to maintain some sort of economic and societal stability, firearms are still a fantastic investment and I know a hell of a lot more about them than the stock exchange. I pulled 100s of thousands out of the investment market and bought real estate and firearms. My investments were losing money, that I had worked my bag off for, and I knew nothing about the market and was at the mercy of others who apparently knew about as much as I did. At least in real estate and firearms, I have a place to live and choose my own destiny and with firearms and the skills I have honed with them, I have the ability to protect it. I choose to live 100s and 100s of miles from any major center of population, not solely for this reason but certainly partially.

Well you certainly worked hard for everything you got. Beautiful shop and collection by the way. Its probably 3 times the size of my house. The kootenay lake also has some of the largest trout, the Girard species. How far are you away from the bottle house?

S-hooters aside, you are the envy of many here, me included.

You worked hard for it and deserve every item pictured.

As for the society theory, I hope it does not happen in my lifetime. If it does, I am on the first boat outta here trying to locate someone with a larger gun collection than me.

Yes .. it is very impressive and enviable; Congratulations or Mazal Tov as my Jewish friends say!

Technically Pete it's called the glass house, but what ever, it is indeed made of embalming bottles. Apparently the original owner also owned a funeral home and just couldn't stand to see all those nice square bottles go to the dump (surely there are some of us old enough to know what a dump is).........anyway I live about 8 miles north of it.

SB........regarding lefties, if you look close about 1/2 are of the ambidextrous model, just as suited to lefties as they are righties............

Don't know if it's of interest to you but a friend locally who was a pilot, sent me a little e-mail info on the Beaver aircraft. I've forwarded it on to you, Douglas and another gent on site that spent years as a bush pilot in B.C.

Okay deal, however you are not allowed to drive mine any faster than I can drive yours..........what did you say, cruise about 85 kts.............;);)

Two of the crashes were my responsibility along with the fender benders and two prop strikes (I have really good excuses for all of the incidents though).......other crash was another idiot flying, he ran us out of fuel......He then managed to f**k up the easiest forced landing in the world. I allowed him to live only because his appearance made it look as though death was inevitable. Lotta blood, no serious injuries.....
