Hey folks,
Here are a few pictures of the result of my hunt on March 21...Sorry for all the blood, it was too cold to clean the animal's face up properly.
You can see where the bullet exited (patch of grey wool) just behind the shoulder.
My first Muskox, and a good one ta' boot
!!
Details:
Rifle used (for all the 'nutz
): Remy BDL SS in .270 win (aka old faithful
)
Range: A whopping 30 yards
Ammo: Federal HE 140 gr TBBC factory fodder
# of shots: 2
Temp: -32 celsius when we left town at 8:00 am, -42 with the wind; -34 static and -49 with the wind when we got back at 6:45 pm.
What a day, what a hunt!! Gotta go, I've got some butchering to take care of today, I can't wait to get some of the meat on the barbeque.
