Swiss and Italian rimfire and later centre fire Vetterlis are all the rage for collectors here, they are antique and obsolete so no licence required, in fact for the earliest 7.5 swiss black powder rifles its the same.

Seems like it is about time for another lever action savage :D

The oldest in the group is 1960, the top 3 are newer, but in very nice condition. Top to bottom

1980 99 Brush Gun in 375 win
1978 99 Brush Gun in 358 win
1981 99C in 7mm-08
1960 99F in 308 win (unfired)

We need to keep this one rolling.:)

1928-30 Savage Super Sporter in 250-3000. Mind the lighting.
There was a snow storm all around us except for our position. The pic did not do the moment justice at all. The hill in the backgound was really lit up.

And from today we went for a little hike, took the US Krag because I don't have bear spray.;)

This one doesn't have the close up detail but it is one of my favorites.

Hey Richard!
The Husky pic was with my SLR 35mm. I've been told the Tamron 28-300mm lens it wears is famous for the grainy pictures. They started getting really dark so it got sent in for cleaning. Everything checked out fine. I took it home and put it away until I can learn how to use the bloody thing.

Lately all I use is a little Sony Cybershot 7.2MB w/ Zeiss lens. They are all freehand. I need to remember to haul out the tripod next time.

Yours are stellar! What did you use and is it on a tripod?

Your in big trouble if you're going to start posting pictures of 22s now.......

I know what you mean about learning how to use an SLR camera, I have read the manual for mine at least five times and I'm only just starting to get it. :)

I'm using a Pentax K100D Super with a 18-55mm or 50-200mm lens.
So far I haven't been using a tripod unless I'm playing with the shutter speed or using a light box.

Here are some of my photos.

I need more classic rifles, I really should get a nice BRNO 21 to help even out my collection. :D

Richard

SLRs are easy enough to play with provided you have a good teacher. The Army taught me photography and I've forgotten more than I could ever use. I would like to get back into SLRs and develop my own prints as that seemed to be the expense that pushed most of us into digital.

Pace yourself grasshopper. I have a line on a minty 8x57 if you want.;) Square bridge. not sure of the other details yet.

I tried to play with the shutter speed a bit too but have no idea whatsoever. Instruction manuals are written by engineers and who the heck understands a single one of them!

Noel, this is the original one that came with the rifle (when bought in early "50s - the mounts are Warne - I replaced the swing-type Weaver). Really, I have not much to say about it, unless if you play too much with the power (a tricky rack and pinion mechanism), it keeps it's zero. Anyways, for a non-inert gas filled tube it's a pretty good optic.

You really should share, it's not right to keep those all to yourself....share the love.

When I get off my arse I will get pix of mine.

you know, if I had a collection like that, I would propably spend more time tring to decide what to take to the woods then actually hunting in the woods:)
