Old Glocks, do they exist?

Oh by the way I am considering buying a Tanfoglio Combat Sport in .45acp. I know the name is a contradiction in terms but how do you feel about the gun. It has a manual safety and is a DA/SA gun both older concepts. The gun is all steel so I am not sure if such a concept still works in a handgun.

I bought a Glock and it looks like piece of crap... honestly, Taurus is a gun God if you compare... anyway, it's generation 3 and with low count... I'll just keep it for fun.


Anyway, I have seen a lot of police department's glocks and they look even less impressive.

As to generation 1, anything but 9x19 can explode in your hand. I don't expect any of them around as glock was smart enough to quietly recall or buy back them...

But you know, it ain't really that bad for a new dog, like yourself, to learn some old tricks, but again you babble on with nothing but a few weekend courses and a pretty good grasp on the English language to create replies that make you look like you know what you are talking about.

I'll ask you the same thing I've asked the others, can you dispute or debate what I post?? For a forum full of firearms owners who for the most part have no professional training and spend their time shooting at stationary targets from a stationary position. There seems to be a lot of professional opinions. I never stated I was an "expert" nor have I ever eluded to such. I post what I know and no one has the knowledge to debate it. Naturally the direction of the thread turns to personal attacks or open ended comments such as yours.

TDC when was the last time you shot IPSC. With all do respect if you want moving and running you are missing a great sport. IDPA doesn't have quite the same distances to move but you haven't been around IDFPA much either by the sounds of it. I haven't even mentioned Three Gun Competitions. I just finished shooting two IPSC qualifiers and I can tell you with some certainty targets do move in that sport. In IDPA they move and disappear at inopprtune moments as well. Why not get involved with one of the three and test your prowness with your Glock. Better that then have it sitting at home collecting dust.

As an aside nice picture of a Gen1 Glock btw. I wasn't aware that Glock recalled or at least bought back a lot of the Gen 1 Glocks.

My issue with the Gen 3's is the finger grooves too...I don't like them.

I've seen the 1st generation G17's for sale for as low as $450. What a steal!

It's actually just off Wiki, there are probably a few here who have never seen a Gen 1 before. It's just like the one I bought new back in the day. I remember the weight of it loaded with 17 + 1 and also having a now 12.6 S&W 669 lightweight compact 9mm loaded with 15 + 1 each with a spare mag. Total of 66 rounds ready to go. *sigh*

I bought it new for $600 and sold it for $650 a few months later. Price hasn't changed much in 20 years. Didn't like the trigger. It was before the days of drop in upgrades.

I've got some .40 but no gun so I might get a 23 to use it up and try all the trigger upgrades some day.

I had a S&W 469 back in the day..... double action trigger was so lousy you had to almost book an appointment for it to shoot... :(

IMHO, Smith didn't "get with the program" with their auto loaders until the 4 digit model series.

LOL :D Ain't it the truth! Nice way to develop a good trigger mash. And they kept changing models so fast it was instant obsolescence. Lost my 12.6 dropping that dog :(

I have to agree about the finger grooves of the Gen 3 and 3.5 being a nuisance. I wish I could have a 3.5 with no grooves. I am always on the lookout for a barely used Gen 2 Glock 20 in VG condition just to see the difference for myself.
