All day long I see post after post of fancy this and tactical that and I think to myself "Where's the love of the old boys?"........ I have several CZ's and they are great rifles but few things fill me with joy then going out with an old open site single shot and blasting away. This last weekend I got my hands on a 1935 Winchester Model 68 with the original aperture sights. Barrel was full of crap and the bolt covered in gunk, few hours later I had the bolt shining and the barrel showing crisp clean grooves. Off to the range and a few adjustments later I had it shooting 3/4" groups an inch high at 25 using minimags, two turns on the elevation wheel and CB Shorts hitting bang on. Today I stripped the stock as it was in need of some TLC otherwise I'd throw up some pics. I'll post some once the stock is finished.
But here's my question....... I know we all have fancy flyshooting .22's in our safes but who also have a love of the old single shots of yore? If so, what have ya got?
