So, I have been reading about "The Load" from Ed Harris.
https://castbulletassoc.org/forum/thread/1387-the-load-is-13-grains-of-red-dot/
"The Load" asks for 13 grains of Red Dot.
However, it seems that Red Dot was made by Hercules at one point and now is made by Alliant.
And I have two different jugs/bottles of Alliant Red Dot here. One seems to be an older Alliant version .... and one jug says "Now Cleaner!". So, it seems Red Dot has undergone some revisions over time.
My question now is .... given a specific recipe that asks for Red Dot powder, can all those different versions of Red Dot be interchanged and used in that recipe .... and without blowing up my gun? Anybody know?
