According to Madis, Winchester never made a 303 British like the 1 in the first pictures.
Flatsides were for serials 1-5000 so that means 1895 and some of 96. The 303 British was introduced to the Model 1895 in 1898 when the model had a "Fluted receiver"(seniors pic in 30-03) which is seen most often.
