Set snare on a trail
Fair enough.
Set looks good, but it looks a bit high and you need a chin lifter under the snare to make the dog lift its head before going in. Most dogs walk with their head and chin down so you need to get them to lift it into the snare. Thats probably why you had so many misses.
Just break off a stick and stick it in the snow just below the snare or angle it in from the side of the trail. The stick should come to 1 inch or so below the bottom of the snare.
