This has been very interesting. Always nice to see what makes people tic. I was raised in Sask where most of our hunting was done by pitting (different from pit lamping)Most if our shots were were at flying birds.
I hunted with my uncle who used a 20 ga. and I had a 12. those were the days before the 3 and 31/2 " mag. My uncle thought me never to shoot unless you see the eye of a goose and we never came home that I can remember without game.
I gave up ducks and geese a few years ago but I hunted with steel and never had a problem. Oyes Ben I learned never to shoot ducks on the water . Did that once and there is nothing colder then water in the Fall.Further more I never owned a water dog.
