Once in a lifetime James River opportunity!

PHASE 2/3 UPDATE:

Phase 2 is due to land next week and we should start shipping either late next week or Monday/Tuesday of the week after!! You will be emailed a tracking number as soon as it ships..

Phase 3 is almost sold out and the Garands are currently being built at JRA as we speak! So they are not to far away either.

As soon as Phase 3 sells out we will open up the last Phase (Phase 4) of M1's for sale.

Will post more updates as we find out...

Have a good weekend!!

Gary

These are not available unfortuantely...we have on order but no firm ETA at this moment.

How many Criterion barrelled ones are there going to be? And are you bringing in any seperate Criterion barrels for those of us who purchased a Garand with a old used barrel? What is the ETA 2-3 months?

Any update on phase 2 or criterion barrels?

Phase 2s are actively shipping out currently, check your e-mails for tracking numbers, if you don't get one today you'll likely have it before end of the week, no new info on criterion barrels at this time.

Are you expecting criterion barreled M1s or just criterion barrels

One For The Collection For Sure

I fought this - hard - but lost...I've always wanted a Garand and in all honesty had given up on finding one, let alone one in showroom condition AND made out of original parts.

Good show, Wanstalls. Nicely timed sale on the ammo, too. These "I'd be dumb not to buy it" things always come along when I think I'm done buying guns...

Got mine in the mail today, it has some strange brown spots on some areas of the parkerization? (Most noticeable on the front sling mount and the charging handle)

Did you try wiping it off? This part was definitely reparked. Mine should be delivered tomorrow

I've tried wiping it off with no results, it definitely seems to be set in the parkerization.

I don't know if JRA is working in a humid environment or storing rifles in one, but to me that looks like rust to me.

I took mine out to test fire it yesterday and it wouldn't auto load the next round, so broke it down to find out why. After disassembly, this is what the "new" op rod spring looked like:

I'm not sure how something that has (presumably) recently been gone over can look like that internally. I had to use a small wire brush to get the rust off of it. The bolt also slightly catches close to the rear of the receiver (but not quite all the way back)... which is enough that it causes a short cycle. I know these M1's are probably more for collecting, but it's pretty disappointing that JRA would send out a firearm that does not function properly.

How's the rest of the rifle

It has similar brown spots throughout the rifle other than on the outside of the receiver, the magazine base plate, and trigger guard. The rear sight base also has very obvious grind marks on it. The bore looks great though. I'll get some more close up photos of it tomorrow when I get back from University.

That's really messed up that they would send that out for sale.

Springs are supposed to be new and may need break in period to cycle reliably. But that spring doesnt look new to me.
The spots on the newly reparked parts are pretty bad. Im no expert but either the parts were in really bad shape or something went wrong in the park process.

I'll see tomorrow if I won the M1 lottery or if I'm sending it back.

Alright I got some more photos of it.

These brown spots under the barrel have a actual metallic shiny effect to them when I was flashing the light over it.

It is rust. Maybe they didn't get doused in oil straight away after the re-parkerizing job? Regardless, it looks as though a step during the process went sideways.
