Just picked up my first 'buh-bye LGR' purchase to celebrate this long overdue change in the legislation.

I pondered long and hard as to the item to grace my safe with, price was NOT a consideration. In the end the CZ 858 was the winner.

All I can say is holy f*ck!! I LOVE this rifle. It's the NR version (of course.)

This is clearly my absolute favorite firearm (and I have LOTS). Fit and finish is top notch. I thought my SKS was easy to strip and clean, this is MUCH faster and easier, a trait I usually reserve for my female companions :D. Planned mods? next to none, just plan to shoot it lots and learn all about it.

HUGE thanks to Lanz (Sara and Seth), been dealing with them for years and will continue to, great place and great people. If you have not been to Silverdale you need to go now, easily the BEST range I have ever been involved with.

I just wanted to share my utter happiness with this new gun with everyone. I have many guns that I have been less than impresed with. The CZ 858 is a pleasure to own, hold, and shoot.

Thanks for reading :D

I have 4 versions of the 858 and they keep getting better and better
How *** this is in the black and green swction??

Kicking myself ever since I sold mine. Outstanding gun for the price.
Oh well...I'll have another one in June. :D

No CZ 858s have ever been manufactured with chrome bore. What you want is the non restricted VZ 58 sporter.

I joined Silverdale a few weeks ago and it's a great range great people and easy going

What I like best is there are no over the top range nazies.

Everyone is cool and respectfull to each other

This cant be the same Silverdale I was at...

We were nearly ejected for:

handling empty magazines during a ceasefire
inspecting bores during a ceasefire
collecting brass during a ceasefire
moving our unloaded rifles and equipment between ranges during a course of fire

Hands down THE WORST club I have ever been to.

Handling a firearm during a ceasefire is a big no no, all the others you listed seem kinda silly. Calling a ceasefire usually means someones going on range (collect brass, hang targets ect) never been to Silverdale thou, clubs may have different rules from one to another, always check the range rules.

Ya the CZ858 is a fantastic buy and uber reliable, Love shooting mine since I bought it everything else is in the safe(for now, new gun syndrome ). I love it because of how simple it is, super light, no probs fires everything, just a real handy rifle so far.
My only gripe is the wobbling upper and lower hand guards.

I don't know what you can do about the upper hand guard but both of mine wobbled too. I fixed my lower by making a U shaped brass shim to fit in the holder underneath the gas block. I just ground it out of scrap brass and sanded and ground it down until it fit. My lower guard is rock solid now.

As for the top one, seems to be the nature of the design, but im not sure.

Both of those are big no-no's during a ceasefire. Actions open and you don't touch the firearms. As for loading magazines, that's questionable too. If there's a loading area, then sure, but if you're sitting next to your rifle loading a magazine with people down range, that's a no as well.

'nearly' ejected.....I would have been pissed had I been changing targets and you were behind me doing that.

Buh-bye.......
