Nice Remington Indeed! I think you're right fairly light use your R&S. That front sight doesn't appear it's seen to much drag against inside of leather holster.
I don't know when the barrel and frame were reblued but
looks good contrast the cylinder and other parts.
The walrus ivory grips too conspires to give it a nice pop.
Like an artist's rendition of your fine revolver in a comic book. Graphic novel is the new term?

Believe it or not that R&S is not reblued. It was just the way the sunlight was hitting it during the pic. Frame & barrel are much darker in finish than the those pics show. Same tone as the rest of the revolver. Weird but cool illusion.

Edit: Sir. You planted an idea in my brain.
Walrus ivory is less costly than mammoth ivory.
One can stabilize it without a vacuum pump as well.
Hot blueing isn't too costly.

I’ll leave any antique that’s complete and serviceable alone. But to my way of thinking, it’s entirely up to the present owner & who am I to judge. I know I bought a couple of restored guns & had that Remmy done up for myself. Never lost any sleep over it. Enjoy!
