One word yes or no..Should I buy a norinco 1911

There's a difference between drinking the kool-aid and buying it because its cheap and it works. If I had the money, of course I'd buy something like a Kimber...it's not like we're saying Norcs are the best...they're just cheap!

Now Glock owners on the other hand...:p

It all sum it up, they are not the best, we buy because it is inexpensive but work, even has some workmanship or qc problem, still can be easily addressed because of 1911 design, unlike the other gun like Sig or HK, you get a lemon and you are screwed.

My norc ended up costing me about 1100.00. Basically the only original parts on it are the frame (modified) and the barrel. Find me a custom gun tuned exactly the way I want it for 1100.00. I have owned a springfield milspec, kimber and a smith and wesson 1911. This norc as it is now is head and shoulders above them. Norcs are now known for having exceptional frames...that drive smiths crazy because of the hardness of their steel. Most importantly, my norc is the most fun shooter I own or have. I cannot be convinced that norcs are not great build guns. If you want to leave it stock, I can't help you. I bought mine specifically to tear it apart as I knew exactly what I wanted in a 1911. I searched and searched and could not find anything near this price point that had all the features I wanted.

I would Vote "Yes" I've had one for a number of years now in .45, Paid about 350$ for it. Love it, I also have a Springfield Milspec. They shoot the same, imo. Just one was 500$ less then the other.
