ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

According to my local shop they received transfer approvals this morning (April 8th) for purchases from March 9/10. So current ON time is about a month back (and growing because the wall of guns was still full on the 10th last month).
 
Ordered on March 14 from FOC - no word on anything yet. But from the comments here, looks like we are running about a month behind. Honestly, I don't even understand what the delay is under normal circumstances - if you have an RPAL you a legally allowed to purchase restricted firearms. I can see some sort of 3 day waiting period like in some US states, but what are they actually checking/certifying here? I couldn't even have purchased the gun on the site without a valid RPAL? Very confused.

The latest approval I heard of is for March 13 on the canadianguns subreddit. so its creeping along. Still waiting for them to do March 25th approvals.

I a unsure it is true but most stores always throw a comment "of it will be quicker because it is done through us"
Purchased something around 3/15 - hoping to see the e-mail soon!
 
Got a response from the ontario CFO today. Purchased 3/15 as well.

“We are currently working on transfers that were started Mar 6th*. Waiting to be completed are 4902 transfers with very limited staff. Anything recently started will not be completed until May end or first part of June. “

march 13 initiated, called and they said its completed and waiting for CFO approval. I gave my email address as well and she said they would email me when completed.
 
Purchased two things in March but still waiting on one, already own a restricted, both items purchased from site sponsor in person.

First transfer (Pistol) started March 6th, nothing yet.
Second Transfer (AR-15 Lower ) started March 13th and approved April 5th.

The Ontario CFO must have some weird and wacky way of doing things out of order that I just don't understand but it seems like stuff's still trickling through. It would be nice to have it so I can familiarize myself with it before hitting the range (although I'm sure I still have a loooooong wait before that happens given the current situation at most ranges)

Probably put transfers up on a dartboard and work on whichever one the dart hits.
 
You can't even call in anymore to check the status. They've shut the line down due to a substantial increase in call volume. I wouldn't surprised if transfers will take several months given current events.
