ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

Wow. I just received a PSA 15 lower today from a private deal in BC. I live in Ontario. 5days postal for delivery. Transfer emailed to me in 23 1/2 hrs. Yes less than a day. Very quick and smooth. The gal at RCMP was very nice and helpful. My record is spotless but I find less than a day maybe alarming??

Say what now?

Less than a day is still less than a day too long as far as I'm concerned. A valid RPAL should be enough to take it home the instant I pay for it.

Welp here we go again.. Purchase from dealer Sunday night, so Monday I'm assuming the transfer was initiated. Spoke with them Monday about my order (accidentally requested shipping when I wanted to pick up) and asked how long transfers are taking and they said within 2 weeks. Wow talk about overestimating (I hope).

Found out something interesting.. Registration certificates are only printed once per week on Thursday morning. Got to love government efficiencies for ya.

August 2019. Private sale. Seller - Quebec. Buyer - Ontario. Handgun. Transfer time - 5 business days.
August 2019. Store purchase. Ontario. New handgun. Transfer time - 1 business day.

August, new purchase from Ont dealer. Transfer time 2 days. Time to receive registration cert. Two weeks.

I'm now 9 working days waiting on a transfer notice for a 1911 I'm trying to buy from a guy 50km from here in Ontario.

How did you get a transfer emailed to you? I've never, ever had that.

You can call at RCMP Canadian Firearms Program (1-800-731-4000) and update your profile with your email, saying that you want to receive electronic copies of your transfers and SATTs by email.

I bought a beautiful Daniel Defence DDM4 V7 Ar-15 from Red Deer Shooting Centre in Alberta yesterday and i live in Ontario. My last restricted transfer was for a Glock19x which was bought from FOC in Ajax,on and it only took 2 days. Let’s see how long this one takes.
