Ontario - Antlerless draw results, WTF

Are whitetails rare or in short supply in Ontario?

Depends where you are... I hunt the north end of area 60 and hardly have hardly seen any deer last couple of years... absolutely overrun with moose though. Can't draw a bull tag though, what with the screwed up draw system and the mnr being so stingy with tags.

No bull tag & no doe tag again this year.

I was successful, but I am confused as hell, as to how these new licences and tags system is working.

My little yellow card says right on it "this is not a license"!! WTF?

So where is my license, and tag?

This is absolutely retarded!

Now instead of a outdoors card, I have to carry my outdoors card, a yellow slip for my deer license, a deer tag, then my small game yellow slip, and also my fishing yellow slip!

This is so f#*king retarded I can't even begin to understand what the idiots in charge of all this were thinking!

Your tag and license come together in the mail. They are one piece of paper (assuming they use the same system as the moose tag I just received in the mail).

To avoid too much paper you can still have your fishing license and small game license printed on your outdoors card when you renew.

As for me, good to go in 49. I suspect the success rate i near 100% though, so i wasnt surprised.

Ontario is a huge province covering drastically different ecosystems. Both ends of it seem to have very high #s of deer while it dwindles to essentially nothing in the mid part of the province (some places have had as many as 6-7 tags in recent years available per person, while in some places you'd be lucky to see 6 deer all year long)

No antlerless tag for me in 63A. Not a big deal as I usually target bucks myself. It used to be 100% for a few years, then we had a couple of hard Winters. No moose tag for me either in 48. I'm lucky there is no draw for bear tags or I really would be screwed this season.

no antlerless tag for me in area 65, haven't heard from others in my group......

no matter, i'm hoping this 150 class is still around and i get him before he breaks the kicker off his right G2..... this is while we're having lunch about 75 yards away at my camp on my property.
