Ontario - Antlerless draw results, WTF

Yeah, just got mine for 49.

Both myself and the father in law were successfull.

So in the past your tag, did not specify a WMU and was good for a buck in any WMU, so I assume that has not changed, and the WMU and antlerless designation are just for that reason.

Nothing has changed...WMU designation only applies to the antlerless portion of the license. Bucks can be taken province wide.

my tag arrived in the mail today - successful for 46. Looks like no more "mini sticker" portion for the back of the outdoors card, eh?

You have to keep the upper portion of your game seal as proof you bought one now instead of the sticker for your outdoors card.
Got mine in the mail today. And what do you know it came with an extra blank game seal just like my moose tag. Only has my name on it though so i guess we are just supposed to fill in the rest of the details ourselves LOL what a joke the new system is.

WTF is up with these new tags though. MNR claimed to be saving money on hiring an american company to print them but my moose license came with two tag portions one totally blank. I guess we are supposed to print whatever we want on this portion with our laser printers eh ? I cannot believe they are saving any money just making it easier for people to get charged for not having all these extra papers in his pocket.

So you are saying that the liberals and antis are right. We were the ones who have been lying all these years by calling ourselves responsible and law abiding gun owners and hunters.

Not sure what your problem is with my comments. Guess you couldn't see the humour in my sarcasm about the extra blank tag in the envelope this year.

I am simply pointing out that the new license and tag system is a joke and cannot possibly be saving tax payers any $$ when they use twice as much paper to print one tag and send a blank along with it. From Tennessee!!!

New system does not promote sales either as many small retailers in urban centers have stopped selling licenses. I like to think that most people are honest and would definitely licenses but the less convenient they make it the less people will buy them.
Example: 25 yr old man who fishes but hasnt bought a license in a couple years because he is a new father and didn't have the time takes little johnny to crappy tire on Sat and buys him a sponge bob fishing pole to go out fishin with dad. Gets to the counter only to realize that he can no longer buy licenses there and has to wait til Monday for the service ont office to open.

I've been skunked for an antlerless tag for 56 for 2 years running. FINALLY I got lucky! Came home to find my antlerless tag in the mail. If my buddy get's lucky as well, we'll be 2 for 2.

Its a simple system and there is actually less work involved and less lost paperwork. It's a new system. It's not perfect yet, but just like the old system in time it will be the norm.

As for local places not selling anymore, that was most likely not related to the new system. The system is a simple point of sale device just like any retail store.

Not entirely correct. I know of a couple vendors that lost their ability to sell licenses under the new system - the MNR chose not to allow some vendors to sell. The new systems are slow and useless. It took 30 minutes for my local store to get my moose license done. While waiting I chatted with the owner. He said he gets 50 cents per license sale but had to buy the machine. All of your info has to be entered manually even though they swipe the card. He was less than impressed as he is losing money on the deal.
