Just curious if anyone has recently sent in restricted test results for CFO stamping and what the general wait time is before you get your self addressed envelope back.

thanks

5 weeks for a prohib.

When I questioned a member of the CFO's office at the sportsman show about it, they said they are very busy and there is high volume.

Alberta has a high volume probally on par with Ontario yet they can clear them off in under a day???

Ontario does other tricks. They only mail out copies at the end of the week. So you will get it about 5-7days after they do the paperwork.

Lobby Lobby Lobby! Let your MPP know about it.

Wow..Thanks for the info everyone..I shall quit hovering around the mailbox 2 weeks in..Too bad you couldn't just go to Orillia and pick things up from a service counter to speed up the process.

You are talking about the time it takes to approve a transfer, the original query was time for Ontario CFO to approve test results. The Alberta CFO does not 'verify' test scores, you walk out with them and attach them to your application. AFAIK Ontario is the only province that needs to handle tests before you can use them. No wonder they are busy.

I can't comment about the present but back in late September it took 4 weeks to get my stamped results back.

Its 5 weeks from when I bought a handgun till they approved the transfer. That does not include mailing you confirmation. Nothing to do with testing or Pal upgrading.

Ontario is sucks.

seriously I wish we could pick our CFO, I would pick Alberta's.

Pffffft!
The SK CFO approves my restricted firearms before I get off the phone with the CFC. LOL I always have to call the CFO to verify approval because they don't phone me, and this business of having to send off your test for approval is BUNK!!! BANTARIO SUX! I am so glad I moved back to SK.

Regarding Ontario test results being returned so I can apply federally. I've been waiting a 4 weeks for non, and 3 weeks for restricted, so far...

Why does this have to be done at both the provincial and federal level?

I bought a restricted from TS in ontario, transfer took 3 days. I bought a restricted off a private seller, took 14 days.

I don't understand the difference but its annoying as hell.

The federal laws are interpreted/enforced differently in each province, maybe how gun friendly the provincial government is? how hard is it to put a stamp on my results? maybe they were getting a lot of fraudulent test results??? im hoping mine will be in this week to... the race is on

I am the OP on this thread and it ended up taking me just over 3 weeks for restricted results. Test was completed March 17th mailed to the CFO the
18th and results received April 9th. then sent registered mail to the feds in NB and received by them this Monday April 12th. Results had a CFO stamp of March 30th, some of that 3 weeks had to do with the easter friday/monday holidays at canada post. Hopefully everyone waiting gets theres soon!
