Ontario CFO Process Times

It's been almost 6 weeks since the results for my non-restricted test went in, going to call them tomorrow and figure out what the hold up is...I figured I'd have the official results by now. Bad thing is, I'm moving this week, so hope they can change my address if they haven't already sent out the results.

I didn't realize how long it had been until just now, been busy with exams the past few weeks.

Yep, I'm at the six week point too. If I don't get it in the mail tomorrow I'm going to call Orillia to see whats up.

LOL

The moment I complain about it being late, it shows up the next day. Got it this afternoon. A bunch of scribbles and stamps on it, so now I just have to get my photo taken and send in my application. Yay!

This is wierd i was told by firearms instructor that its a mandatory 28 day "cool down" period and to mark it off on my calender before i get my tests back . So if i call them and bother them enough theyll speed it up ?

The waiting period is for the actual application, the test results are supposed to be returned to you within 2-4 weeks.

If you're referring to your application, there's no way to speed it up with regards to the waiting period...but if you do call after the waiting period they'll probably speed it up so you won't have to wait 50-60 days to get your license.

...or so people say.

I just spoke with Deb Ricard at the Ontario CFO in Orillia, she is the one that stamps our tests.
I asked her about my test being six weeks in and she told me that right now they are a couple weeks behind and that I should get them any time now.
We'll see how that goes.

Hello all, I too have been waiting for my safety for restricted. (been 5 weeks) however, my application has already been sent in to Miramichi and all they are waiting for is my safety (that i will fax once i get it) and then they finish the process.
I did the same for my Non restricted. soo while i was waiting for the 28 days my safety was still in process and by the time i got it back the 28 day period had passed and i got my card within a week from faxing . (soo from the date i did the Exam to the date i got my card was 44 days)

I don't understand. You can submit your application for your RPAL and then fax them the test with the stamp??

Did you just put a note on it?

Didn't Really put a Note. Just didn't check the box stating (proof attached). did that for both PAL And RPAL they just send you a letter saying they are waiting on your safety.
this way really speed up the process for ppl in Ontario who are waiting for their safety papers

Thanks!! I got the same answer when I called the CFC - Kim told me just to mail in my application and then fax the safety when I got it. Never fails - I mailed it Friday and my stamp arrived yesterday.

yea 5 weeks for me but i faxed it in on a Friday and my status changed over the weekend to "in progess". Monday I called in for interview and got my refs to call in and by Tuesday STATUS = licence approved :dancingbanana:

I used to live in Edmonton and it would take about 4 days for a restricted, That was about 5 years ago and im not sure if its still the same there. I now live in Northern Alberta and I had a restricted go through in 30 minutes :D:dancingbanana:

my results took about 5 weeks for the stamp, sent my application in yesterday. for the chaps who call in and get their references to call in for the interviews do you call the 1800 number? what status should my application be online when i call?
thanks

Well first i would wait about 2 weeks from the date you mailed it for it to show up online. and then wait until it says "in progress" then you can call up and get your interview done and then get the app ref# from them or it should be online as well and get your chaps to call in and press 1 then 1 then ###X.
HOWEVER if you are ONLY applying for non restricted there will be no interview for you or no need for your references to call in.
