does lanz shooting supplies stock handguns? i never heard of them. how are their prices?

They stock smith paras kimbers glocks and tarus and some used guns. theres a small selection still and its a very small store and the prices are somewhat high.

Good people though.

I am going to visit my sister in Pickering in Sept. What about gun stores within an hour's drive?

You cannot go wrong with William`s Arm`s in Port Perry....Looks small on the outside, but they pack a lot into it...Also, they will break their backs to get what you want....

Oh I forgot Leamington Gunsmithing. Tons of rifles and jam packed into a small store with rediculously high prices. Way overpriced imho. He quoted me $40 for box of 9mm ammo.

I'll put in a good word for The Gun Centre in Kitchener. Good selection and honestly some of the friendliest and informative guys I've dealt with.

The guys who bought Lovett's in Kitchener have expanded their store. Now it's called the Gun Centre. They carry a lot of Glocks, don't know what else.

Oops, just read the post above. Agree about the guys being nice.

Some of there prices are just plain silly, but then again there is NOT a good gun shop in southerm ontario, with a large selection of handguns, long guns, and assesories. Odds are, if you go to any gunshop in southern ontario you will hear the famous "we can order it for you" line, several times. I have shopped at shooters choice, triggers and bows, gun centre, gobles stores, and a few other smaller shops also. None can come close and compare to ellwood epps in orillia. Best prices, and selection in ontario. Unfortunately, us folks in southern ontario may have the highest population in Canada, but we have the worst gun shops. Very strange that someone has'nt modeled a store after epps down here, because they would make a killing.

Unfortunately, if you live in southern ontario you have 3 choices.

1. Buy from the internet, like cgn sponsors

2. Drive 2-3 hours north to ellwood epps.

3. Go to a overpriced gunshop with little selection, and inventory from southern ontario.

Bitter pill to swallow, but those are your honest choices.

Ellwood Epps

I totally agree. Plus some of the places I have tried to shop in are firmly rooted in the 19th century. One place I had tried to spend $4000 in told me not to send them emails. That was after taking my $2000 deposit. Gun stores with few exceptions are managed like Blacksmith shops. I wouldn't brand them all but what kills me on top of other things is the attitude. We need them more than they need us. I bought two high-end guns through Epps the last of which was a $3800 custom 1911. I just love going into the store even if it does take me an all day drive. It's like a shrine up there and staffed with friendly and knowledgeable people. I don't see going anywhere else for my stuff.

Can someone tell me some good locations to buy firearms(handguns) in the South-western part of Ontario? I know about Ellwood Epps in Orillia and Shooters Choice in Waterloo, other than that I don't know. Thanks

Target Sports in Stouffville, Williams Arms in Port Perry
