Ontario Moose Draw Results Today!

After 10 years in the draw, finally, FINALLY I got a tag, a Bull tag. Trouble is this, in the 9 previous seasons, we have gotten tags (about 3 times, other members in the group) we never see anything, yet last year we saw 5 cows and 2 bulls, but no tags. Seems we almost always see whatever it is that we DONT have a tag for :(

I hope this year is different, if not, i'll spend my hunting days shooting waterfowl instead.

As for financial ties to preserving habitat, every hunters license fees are going to that. What is your father doing to preserve habitat other then owning property?

For starters, funding the MNR is not the equivalent to preserving habitat. Having a membership in the OFAH is closer.

However, to ensure some is actually happening, buy some forest land, have it selectively logged periodically to ensure a balance of mature and new growth as well keeping wet lands available through out.
 
No tag for me. Makes sense though since i didn't apply. Someone i know got a tag though so i may bite the proverbial bullet and go buy a calf licence so we can hunt together. I stopped buying licences a few years ago because i was sick and tired of giving away my money to the MNR. We have sh*tloads of moose around here and next to no tags. I guess i just don't understand the MNRs "management" style. :confused: :rolleyes:
