Ontario powder shortage?

I just returned from Florida, where I spoke with Roger Brenner. He is the fellow who sells components at all of the big shoots in Ohio and Michigan. Powder is in really short supply and the supply chain is empty. His comment was if you fins a powder that will work for you, buy it and buy what you can. He sees no end to this problem in the near future. There is no problem getting lead, primers and wads.

Another interesting bit of information is that Remington is apparently building a new ammunition manufacturing facility in the southern US. This should relieve some of the difficulty we have seen in getting some shells and cartridges.

Funny thing is that a lot (if not all) hodgedon,IMR, winchester powders are made in Quebec.

Only a portion of the IMR line is made at Expro in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Winchester powders are made by Olin in Florida and most of the Hodgdon stuff comes from Australia.
