Ontario Provincials

The last time a truck stage happened, it was an older carberated Dodge made up to look like a Half-Track. The regulator was cranked up, and the driver simply lifted his foot off the brake to start. The truck was backed into the berm for the start, serpentined up a set path, and stopped at a fixed point.

The shooter fired from the tailgate which was padded with sandbags.

Of course nobody counted on 6'5" competitors leaning out the back, leading the turn to get more sighting time on what were essentially disappearing targets. Two competitors managed to break 90 doing so. :(

That was the Sharon Open that Jeff and I ran, with the stopwatch on the truck, there was up to 30 sec difference in runs...

Keep in mind that these days, there's guys (dicks) at the stages with stopwatches looking to get those things tossed due to inconsistent times for each competitor. Make sure it's #### proof. :D

already had that in mind.. it's called an electric winch.. same time no matter how many times you run it.. ;) (plus you (shooter) can start it with a pad so it's a self start ;) got a few ideas, just need to work through some details.

Can anyone go and spectate??? I am currently debating on starting to shoot IPSC. Plus Sharon is like 10 mins from my house. And the participants might get Miss.EvilDezel to start IPSC as well...

While it's not like Golf or Tennis, there is not generally a problem coming to watch. Of course you run the risk of being put to work.:p

Depending on the stage, it can be fun to watch.

I remember those truck stages what a blast... of course the glory days of the Sharon Open will never be again with the prizes of guns and equipment with everybody in attendence going home with something.. and then there was Neil's cooking especially his pastries top notch

So, what is the format usually? I see the match is scheduled for 5 days. Do you have be there for all 5 days or do you just shoot one or two days?

as well as one shooter who went F.A. without the RO being aware - i guess the RO thought he had a quick finger and a faster mag change
