ontario spring bear hunt

For the seasoned hunters what do you use for insect control? I'm afraid to use muskol as I'm taking nice rifles and a plastic stocked muzzleloader

Will thermocells be enough?

I'm thinking of using a vintage Winchester lever gun. Either my 1886. 33WCF or my 1895 in. 35WCF. We'll be canoeing a river on the May Long Weekend, hoping to plug one off the shoreline. I have an 18 ft Novacraft Prospector that has yet to have blood in it. 105 days to go!!

I have some insect repellent from the CF, it works good. Just don't get it in your eyes. I used to use Amway D15 until they stopped adding "Repellent 11" that was banned in Canada. I dont know what was in Repellent 11 but to worked well.

Contains deet.... If you have plastic stocked guns, be careful .... It can have a bad effect on them...

I still have quite a bit of "deet" based repellents, nothing works as good. Although, I guess it was banned because it is carcenogenic? Lol
