Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

I ordered my restricted from a store on July 20th , Firearm was at my house on August 3rd , so roughly 2 weeks.

It's funny , I just remembered , I still didn't receive my registration by mail

My registrations usually arrive about 1.5 weeks after transfer completion. A few months ago i had 3 restricted transfered for to my name but only 1 registration arrived. Had to call CFO and they re-sent the other two. Dont like the idea of two of my registrations floating around out there.. ohh well.

My latest transfer, called in on the 2nd of August, was completed today.
I had requested an email notification but did not get one, I called the cfc and was told the transfer was done today.
I'm 0 for 3 on the email notifications for my last three transfers

Do you really want them to fix the email? Our cost for renewal will probably double. ;)

I just checked the mail today and the certificate arrived , when I opened it , it was dated August 8th

I had a prohibited transfer submitted on July 28th and approved on August 4th. Unfortunately they forgot to email the parties and we didn't find out until the paperwork arrived in the mail :-(

For some reason I don't think they forget , I think it's done on purpose

Bought a lower on the 4th was shipped on the 10th... All 3 of my restricted purchases have been done in roughly 4-8 days 2 though businesses 1 private... No complaints here

Just had one approved today after 5 working days, AB to ON, private sale.
lets wait and see how long an ON to ON business sale takes. Initiated yesterday.
Update: Dealer to me transfer approved on 29 Sept.

i have sold guns all over Canada, and it is only in Ontario where there are these long wait times. In Sask/Alberta/BC/Manitoba/Quebec, it is usually within 48 hours, although I have seen them approved that same day on occasion. My first sale in Ontario was my .22 Mark II target which took 3 weeks for the transfer to be approved. I felt so bad for the buyer, and he replied that this is normal in Ontario :(.
Not too sure why this is ONLY in Ontario.......... I don't buy the fact that the CFO is on holidays and he has to catch up as the wait times are always there, and I work for the federal government as well, and I cannot get ANY leave approved, unless my position is covered!

just bought an ar from a guy in ontario, im in alberta, i called in with reference number at 4:30mst... next morning at 7am got a text from him saying it was approved... :p

According to a local major gun retailer, the Ontario CFO office is overwhelmed with the number of transfers in this province and they apparently only have a staff of 2!

If it were any other government entity people would be up in arms with how long these processes take. But the lowly gun owner is so afraid of having their guns taken away that we just take it. It truly shows how unfair the system is. I'm at 10 days, if it doesn't go through by Monday I'll be calling my MP. This is a completely legal process, I pay fees to cover the costs of the process and I expect promptness.
