Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

I firmly believe the long transfer times are how the CFO punishes Ontarians for questioning their club membership rule.
"Oh you want to challenge us in court, fine then you all will pay!"

I waited in cue on the phone. If you don't call them then they're not going to call you.
Bought a bunch of restricteds but I only ever called them on my first as it did take some time and I wasn't sure how things worked , never called them again and received all my purchases so I'm not sure what ur trying to say ?

You should file a complaint. That is outside the 30 day service delivery standard for firearms transfers.

And that's after I've called the RCMP and spoke to their staff twice on two occasions. The first time they said it was sitting with the Ontario CFO, the second time I called on the morning off the 20th and they said the CFO had already approved and emailed the business... whatever, every time it's a different excuse, just give me the damn gun.

Purchase from a business on Nov. 3 - Friday evening, so I assume that the transfer request was submitted on Monday Nov. 6.

I was notified today, Nov. 22, that the transfer is approved.

16 days, so it looks like I got lucky and didn't have to wait as long as others have been.

Does it pay to call in and (politely) check the progress?

Call the RCMP, I did that on a few occasions and get the impression that everything is delegated to the CFO of the province you are in.

Call the CFO, I think they don't take calls anymore and instead you can leave a voicemail.

This day and age everything transaction and everything change of status is recorded, I don't know how can they not a little bit more transparent. I guess that's most things government. I don't recall being able to check my passport application status.

I sold a pistol on EE over 2 weeks ago. It's all boxed up and ready to ship to the new owner, but nothing has shown up on my end to say the CFO has approved anything. I called the 1-800 number on Wednesday asking about it, and got the reply that "Ontario wait times can be quite long".
At least I got her to put me on the e-mail list when the approval comes through. The poor buyer doesn't deserve this.
This sure makes the 3 day waiting period in the US seem like a dream come true.

The OPP/Ontario government is in charge of the CFO in Ontario. The RCMP has no control or insight what the Ontario CFO does as they are an opt-in province.
