Do you really believe his office calls the CFO's office and says " hey, so John Smith complained that you guys are talking too long. Please look into this" ?
That's not how it works

Ontario to Ontario?
That's good news since i have a transfer from Jul 5th pending.
The person handling my complaint at the Ontario Ombudsman's Office called me back again today. He stated that he had a conversation with a manager at the Ontario CFO office.
The information he relayed to me:
- CFO office has authorized overtime to deal with the backlog which they weren't able to authorize before
- They are in the process of bringing on new staff which might not be until the end of the summer
- The CFO office staff are provincial employees but the program is funded by the federal government.
- The backlog is a result of staffing issues and increased demand for restricted firearms.
- CFO office performs some kind of background check on you at time of transfer (this didn't seem very clear to me but there was mention of courts and police... i dunno)
- Variation in the time it takes to process transfers depends on the individual, someone with many restricted transfers previously approved may be fast tracked.
- Because its federal funding, need to complain to federal government to properly fund program
- Others should file complaints if they are experiencing delays as Ombudsman's Office wants to continue to track the problem
so, action items:
- Continue to file complaints if you are experiencing delays
- Complain to federal government about funding? (Would this be Public Safety?)
