There is no question the backlog story is a lie. The Ontario government, beholden as they are to public service unions, would be only too happy to add to the staffing roll at the CFO if this was really the problem - afterall, more union positions equal more future Liberal voters.
We need to demand equity in the way the federal CFP is administered by the provinces.
The service standard is 10 business days. If they aren't meeting this standard, file a complaint with the Ombudsman of Ontario and watch your transfer be approved the following business day. Make sure to ask the CFO what the service standard is and remind the Ombudsman that they are continually unable to meet this service standard. Remind the Ombudsman that the service standard is an upset limit of how long it should take. They should aim to have these done in less than ten business days and they should be staffed accordingly.
Ask me how I know. Not my first rodeo. Complaining on an online forum certainly does nothing.
Bought a Glock 17 Gen 5 on Friday. Will advise when transfer is complete.
Transfer completed March 7. So 13 business days after purchase.
Someone posted a quote a while back that the service standard is 30 days I believe. I checked the Ombudsman's website, and they have no jurisdiction of the CFO's office. Screwed, are we.
4 weeks for my last one. Transfer started Feb. 5, just got the approval paper yesterday in the mail.
