Oops... Guess that explains the FTE's

Haha
To be fair guys the bolt is ran super hard because it spent about 50k in a home carbine length before switching into a pdw-length gun. This particular gem I smuggled into work because it came from a "full auto bolt" which I thought meant good stuff.

I don't know the make because it's about 12 years old and came from a rifle built to spec for me by a former cgn member. I don't know the name brand but it was full auto bolt.

Anyways it was in a "work" pdw that basically was stashed in the helux for the duration of the rotation as backup. We had a few training rounds to blast off before year end so a mag in and it started to FTE, and then FTF, and failed battery because chunks got jammed.

I put the original back in. And it's all good. This one I smuggled back home with my hair shaving clippers.

I want to say DPMS circa 2003 but I could be wrong.

DPMS will have a "D" stamped on the bolt somewhere....unmarked could be anybody except Colt/DPMS as they marked the bolts, and 10+ years old could be any steel.
I only thought Nork cuz of the finish is similar lol

So can you please explain the difference of a full auto bolt from a semi auto bolt?

Semi auto have some less metal, some have a slot cut in the bottom, some are semi circle.

They all vary

...12 years ago I believed everything on the Internet... If the bolt itself came from a full auto bcg then it *should* be more special than a semi bolt? No?

Whatever the case though, I would of figured the wear would be more uniform, but because the two lugs were practically sheared off, I have to assume it's because of the high amount of pressure and concussive force from the 7.5" barrel coupled with it being repurposed after
50k rounds. Surprised it lasted so long. It did have about 5k of use through the pdw before this happened though...

The Bolt has 50K, that's impressive enough.

Removing the smooth bore barrel from said retired gun.

there is nothing in this thread so far that would warrant a lock. Stop causing drama.

Its because people are poking at what manufacture it is as a attempt to put in cheep pokes, that normally turn into CGN #### shows.

Haha robertmc don't remind me that gong show with the rail and barrel crown nut thing.

The carbine isn't retired it just sits in the safe as I'm hardly at home to shoot it.

Did pops get his #### back?

We're talking bolts not carriers! I'm unaware of any difference from a semi auto bolt to a full auto bolt. Some commercial manufacturers may use material different from carpenter 158 though other than that they have the same specs.

I would of thought because of the higher cyclic rate of select-fire rifle, that the material make-up of the bolt itself might be stronger or more hardened from that intended for solely semi-auto fire...
But I guess I assumed wrongly.
