Op Rod Guide Spring

While it's not necessary to swap out the chinese spring when using the m14doctor NM guide rod, I also prefer to run an aftermarket spring. BOTH springs will work well with our NM guide rod.

I did both, visually you can tell the difference, also my aftermarket spring is about an inch longer. The action seems to cycle more smoothly and it seems to have a more positive feel. It is my belief that a US made spring will last alot longer then a Chinese spring.

Been thinking about this upgrade as well. I've been running a NM spring guide and a a bunch of other tweaks and my rifle shoots like a hot damn, as far as I'm concerned (sub 1.25MOA at 100m prone from a bipod). Getting a bunch of stuff from Brownell's as a xmas gift and was debating whetheror not to throw in a replacement oprod spring as well? For what is pretty damn cheap I guess I might as well?

Got my spring from Brownells as well as the extended bolt stop. Sadlak Op Spring Rod and Nitride piston also arrived over the weekend. It is time to strip the shorty and put it into the TROY chassis. BTW, there will be a new player in the M-14 chassis manufacturing. It is someone that has built one offs for several US manufacturers and is receiveing royalties for 22 years for conceiving things for an army contract.

Regards,
Henry;)

Thanks to all for the info and just placed an order with Wolff Springs, however after having done so I came across 762mm Firearms who list a spring for $5.95
Vs 13.95.
Anyway it's a done deal from Wolff::

I emailed 762mm Firearms for the shipping cost for one spring but the minimum order is $75.00 :(

What are the other parts you have ordered from them? How is the shipping cost?

Just a Springfield op rod spring guide and the spring. Haven't received them yet though, was a recent purchase. Don't recall what shipping was but it was reasonable, and I couldn't source the parts from any sponsors unfortunately.

969-166-300-16630 mka/m14 recoil spring-$13.99

969-166-300 (Wolff Spring) is the best spring for a M14Doctor OP rod spring guide because Brownells has Springfield Armory springs in stock?
