Best bet IMO would be out of the US ... Lots of companies can do the importing for you, including CGN sponsors Wolverine and Prophet River. Be prepared to wait though ...

well got a few people to look at, i know i could go to the states but hey if there is a smith in canada that its a stupidly long time or twice the price then id prefer to get it in canada

Mine is from Benny Hill at Triangle Shooting Sports.

Dawson, Brazos, Chris Cheely... Heck, Johnny Lim. Just cant get that kind of variety and signature style here in Canada.

Ask Josko at DoubleTap sports, a sponsor here to give you a quote. I suggest an STI trubore customized if you are in a hurry. An Sti built from the ground up as you rerquest takes about a month or two. Or if you have a while to wait and lots of money order an SV from Frank at CFRAM.

Try Dave at Cape he is in BC and does first rate work.
He can usually be found at the IPSC matches in the Lower Mainland.

We have first rate pistolsmiths in Canada there is no need to go to the US plus you avoid the hassle of dealing over the border.

I personally would stay away from armco. stick with dark or double tap.

Cant comment on smiths in central or eastern Canada,but here out west would recommend Dave at Cape Guns.Ive had work done by him and was very happy with the results.Hes also involved in IPSC and understands what a open shooter requires in a gun.

Other option(possibly cheaper and quicker),would be to buy an open gun from STI(freedom ventures),shoot it a bit and then do the final tweaking as necessary.

Open guns are always popping up on the EE here,some at really good prices as well.

This gun is going to be a steel only gun so its a bit different wants list than a regular open gun so that is keeping me away from buying a used open gun or a sti one + tweaking since the only one that would be suitable is a steel master.

Sent some emails out to the suggested people and will continue to send them and look at the websites for anyone else you guys would recomend
